What's your muse LEAST favorite Pokèmon AND Type? It could be a Pokèmon they don't see themselves use, be afraid of, or openly dislike. And no easy answer! I won't believe you if you say you like all!!
This actually had me stumped for a moment because Lys, in my mind, is someone who can find the beauty in all Pokémon (unlike his opinion on humans) ... I mean, he wasn't a huge fan of dogs before Zygarde popped into his life as L, now he's soft on them ... This is the guy who loved his Magikarp so much that he was able to mega evolve ...
But then my brain went oh yeah! Pokémon like Muk and Trubbish, created from trash and chemicals left by humans could easily be candidates for this.
... Buuuuut then as L he's got his Garbodor, which leads me to believe he's found some semblance of peace with that fact — or at least, he respects the Pokémon created from such things and would rather help them than see them as humanity's failures. They're here to stay, so why hate them for simply existing?
As for typing? That also gets a bit muddy imo, since he doesn't really have a cohesive type that he sticks to. Like, I'd almost say poison for the fact that both Muk and Garbodor are poison, but then he's got Corbeau, and I can't see him outright disliking an entire type ...
I think at the end of the day Lys is someone who judges individual Pokémon by their role in the ecosystem and whether humans have had a hand in that. He might have some objections (ok, he does definitely have many objections) to Pokémon like Galar's fossils. Less of a type and more of a circumstance, if that makes sense.
Aaaand he kind of takes issue with fossil Pokémon in general, as he likes the idea of doing preservation work but also worries about the effect bringing back a bunch of extinct species would have on the current environment. Is it sustainable? Will it cause harm to the current local species? Are people bringing them back just to have something rare / a status symbol / show off their money, or do they truly care about the Pokémon? What happens when that Tyrunt they brought back evolves and suddenly they have to deal with a Tyrantrum while living in a Lumiose apartment? What's the rate of humans abandoning fossil Pokémon? and so on and so forth........ Which is all less about the Pokémon itself and more about humans. as always with Lys.

For a moment, L goes quiet. Then something of a soft laugh escapes as he puts a hand to his forehead, rubbing the spot between his brows.
"Besides, what other choice do I have? If I were to squander the three thousand years I have been given and instead focus on selfish desires, go back to my old ways... that is when I think I would not be able to live with myself. The big thing about Lys being related to royalty is that, at least in the canon I've written, Kalos isn't governed by kings any longer, so his family's reputation is all historic and more decorative than having any sort of actual political power. Well. Aside from what Lysandre gains from paying people in power.
His family has tended to stay a little further back in recent years, mainly due to his father's temperament — Adrien is a soft-spoken man who prefers to keep to himself. His grandfather was similar. Lysandre takes more after his mother when it comes to his dedication to bettering the world — her stories of her own journey is partially what inspired him to take on his own goals of helping people he met in his time traveling Kalos.
But the 'royal' side of the family: it's his father's side, not his mother's. At this point the lineage is so vast and so many years have passed since AZ's time that it's sometimes difficult to trace properly; Lysandre's family has those in their hire to keep track of these things as they have for generations. There are branches upon branches of the family with more and more loose connections, some with bigger reputations, some with less.
Lysandre's immediate family can trace their line to AZ's brother fairly confidently, and they certainly have pride in that, but there are no exact royal titles bestowed on him or his family — I think about the fact that Sycamore points out Lysandre's heritage as a fun fact rather than a direct aspect of him. He doesn't say "Lysandre is the prince of Kalos", but rather that he's related to the old royalty of Kalos, isn't that cool?
And Lysandre takes pride in it. It shows his family has always been an important part of Kalos history, and he takes it on himself to continue to preserve that. His research into his family line is what drove him toward the Weapon — it's known that it was an ancient king who fired it the first time, but one would have to sit and actually trace the lines to connect Lysandre's current family directly to that event. It's not hidden, per se, but rather something much of his family sees as a dark spot in their history.
It's... Worrying, to them, that Lysandre has taken much of the records of that history for himself, sequestering much of the literature on the topic away in his personal labs rather than within the family's estate.
I love characters with tunnel vision. False dichotomies. The sunk cost fallacy. Characters who are convinced of their utmost rationality and can even lay out their entire philosophy in logical, impersonal terms and convince others even though the whole of their actions, rationalised to hell and back though they may be, are spurred on by something entirely emotional (and this doesn't stop them from being right on the money about some things). Characters who are at once the most and least self-aware people ever. Characters who know the ins and outs of their psyche like a map they've memorised but can barely tell when they're experiencing a feeling.

He's out at the canals, simply feeding the Magikarp for today. Tossing handfuls of food to them, leaning over toward the water to pet the less cautious ones. Tarasque is hanging around in the water nearby.
