Live at Mohawk Place with YALI
May 31, 2017 | Written by Hillary Bosy; Photos by: Krit Upra
>> Last night I was fortunate enough to see YALI perform at Mohawk Place in Buffalo. The harmonies and intricate strumming from both the lead singer Bryan Zells and the bass player Bryan Johnson were exquisite. The feel-good, indie, acoustic, folk vibes were intoxicating and magical. The three piece, normally four piece band, left me awestruck and eagerly awaiting for their next performance! YALI is branching out and their next big endeavor is recording a film score to a documentary about a runner named Joe McConaughy who ran two fifty plus mile races in Oregon and California. One Fish, Two Fish. Good Shit, BadFish.
May 24, 2017 | Words by: Clayton Brooks; Photos by: Collin Van Bork

oh wow
“About the instrument: It is a nyckelharpa, a Swedish key harp, almost like a violin with buttons. It is not easy to get a hold of one, I was lucky to find one in an instrument shop in Copenhagen called Strengelegen, he buys, restores and sells ancient traditional instruments and he only had that 1 he had imported.”

New Music Review : Jain - Zanaka
May 15, 2017 | Written By: Ben Escobar
On her sophomore album, Zanaka, Parisian singer and producer Jain delivers a vast catalogue of influences while maintaining an air of spontaneity and feel-good youthfulness. With styles ranging from trip-hop, reggae, and electro drawn from the artist’s Moroccan roots, Jain’s glossy voice flies over gritty drum kits with bright horns and a steady guitar accentuating the multi-national influences in her style.
