I read a lot about how Cyberpunk 2077 was designed to make you feel insignificant and alone, that it showed how humanity could be erased under corporatism and a culture of entertainment meant to keep people in line.
I’m replaying it now and that’s not what I see at all. I see love pouring from every crack in the system. I see people looking out for each other despite the world pushing for individualism. It’s a game about the world being a machine that breaks people, sure. It’s also, to me, a game about how we can’t lose what makes us human, despite everything.
rocky eats shit (colourised)
This movie is going to be my entire personality for the next few weeks. I came for the sci fi drama, stayed for the silliness.
CONTROL (2019) dev. Remedy Entertainment
taps the sign
Forgot about my CONTROL fanart for the fan book project from months ago... until now.
"You will often be subjected to uncomfortable situations in public and you should learn to navigate that" and "if you play your music out loud in a public hike then the other hikers should be allowed to hunt you for sport" are two sentiments that can and should co-exist
Reasons why I’m going to play Saros this week:
- Creepy sci-fi
This is what made me cry the most in this game. Happy Birthday COE33.
Starfield does at least one thing better than No Man’s Sky: each planet can have multiple biomes. Rivera I, for example, has deserts, forests, plains, mountains, volcanoes… and I haven’t finished exploring it yet.

I used to think that fan art surrounding a piece of media is representative of the quality of said media, too. And seeing this, I think I really need to start playing Signalis.
Random thoughts about Starfield after 6h on PS5
Let’s start with the bad stuff:
- Quite a lot of performance issues, even in performance mode, especially in crowded spaces like New Atlantis or Akila
- I grew tired of being called « exceptional » and « talented » and everyone trusting me with critical life or death stuff when they don’t even know me. It’s very dated and it feels fake.
- Character animations look very dated, or maybe I got bored of that first person perspective with no one really looking at each other while talking.
- It feels like Skyrim had a child with No Man’s Sky, The Expanse and The Outer Worlds, but with none of the specific stuff that makes each of those unique and memorable.
The good now!
- …it feels like Skyrim had a child with No Man’s Sky, The Expanse and The Outer Worlds, and man I love all those franchises.
- There’s a bunch of mysteries that got me hooked and I really hope we get to solve some of them (like where do these artifacts come from? Why has earth lost all of its atmosphere?)
- You can explore the solar system, land on Europa and gaze at Jupiter in the sky, and that sunrise in Mars alone made my entire day
- The whole NASA-punk look is incredibly stylish, I got chills every time someone talks to me over the comms, and that gold foil everywhere is chef’s kiss
- The locations!! Space stations in low orbit with glass on the floor?? A huge oil rig looking neon cyberpunk-ish city on an ocean planet?? I can’t wait to discover the rest.
- Andreja is cool as hell
I’m having a great time overall, probably not my game of the year but definitely not one I regret buying.
I started Starfield today without knowing anything about it, I had no idea you could visit the solar system, and now I’m crying, watching a sunrise on Mars.
