I love it when authors visibly lose control of their characters and have to scramble to recover. Like my favorite scene in wuthering heights is when Emily Brontë gives Isabella a Gun just to see what happens, and within seconds flat Isabella goes "Wait a second I could just shoot the fucker" with zero angst and Emily has to scramble to have Earnshaw get the gun away from her before the story just ends right there

setup chapters of wuthering heights greatest foot in mouth simulator of all time. you decide to go meet your new neighbor so you trek all the way down to his house (you live on the moors) and he's the world's meanest guy who hates small talk and explains nothing so in order to make conversation you have to just guess, and you guess wrong every. single. time so he grows increasingly enraged with you but, again, refuses to volunteer information until you first innocently say something extremely incorrect that triggers all of his insecurities and pushes all of his buttons. there's a mean girl there too and they spend the whole visit fighting with each other and you got their relationship wrong about three times and you're still not sure if they actually explained it. and now the weather is too bad to walk home (on the moors) so you have to stay the night (you have to sort of guilt them into it and they're not even guilty, really, they just want you out of their hair) so they put you in the guest bedroom which is also the dead situationship bedroom. was it the only available bedroom? no somebody did it to antagonize your neighbor, possibly, so he comes in while you're sleeping (badly, you found the dead situationship diary and were up half the night reading and somehow you have even less context than before) and kicks you out before you even know what you did wrong, again, and you have to walk allllll the way home (on the moors) and then when you get back you have the most horrible raging cold for days. your housekeeper makes you soup and because she's bored she tells you your neighbor's entire life story . STILL not enough context for all that shit at his house

The thing that blindsides me every time is how heavy a crochet project quickly becomes. 2kg of yarn weighs 2kg but I always somehow feel like when it is absorbed into The Project it should no longer weigh 2kg.

Each ball is only 100g which is very light so crocheting 20 of them together should also be very light.

drafted a joke-post about the fitz-verity sex livestream in royal assassin but i'm making this instead because i'm actually getting heated thinking about it. okay walk with me. you're verity. your beloved older brother who you adored more than anything sent himself into exile — where he was murdered — because he had unprotected sex with a woman beneath his station. ring ring! you get a midnight facetime from your fatherless nephew fitz. guess what! he's having unprotected sex with a woman beneath his station. sound familiar? :) like if i were verity i'd be haunted. verity stared into the repetitive cycle of time's cold dead eyes and saw chivalry's mistakes rising from the grave so he calls fitz to his study and then what does he do?? "haha lady red skirts amirite" LIKE ohhh verity you deserve death for not taking any of this seriously at all. obviously a teenage boy will do as he wants and make his own mistakes, but the fact that fitz-verity sex livestream was treated as mere comic relief in royal assassin makes me want to chew nails like what do you meaaan verity saw his cherished brother's death rearing its head in fitz and all he did was make jokes. father that boy challenge. i'm pushing him off the tower. verity you would be the failuncle of all time but your little brother is a poisonous conniving murderer. anyway. rant over. i think verity farseer would have really rocked with nettle
