Hello, friends! It's nice to finally meet you all! <3

I'm Buddy and I've been wanting to share my hobbies with the world for quite a while now, so why not on this lovely community called Tumblr?! I'm new to this so please be patient if I make any mistakes, and any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated! I hope we get along and I make tons of new friends through here!

Some of my hobbies include gardening, if you couldn't already tell lol, baking, sewing, coffees, teas, and vintage! I have a massive collection of dolls, both antiques and handmade by yours truly. I've even thought about making a little side business where I can makes dolls by commission! Would you guys want that? Let me know in the comments if you would!

All that aside, I look forward to talking with you all! I have my inbox open if you'd like to leave me any messages. Look forward to talking with you all soon!

This is an ask blog for my OC Buddy based around the comic series I plan to make for him. If you wanna send me, the creator, an ask on this blog you can tag it with To Alucard or smth like that.

I've got a busy life so I won't always be able to respond to all the asks with doodles or images, but I'll try to!

Buddy and his comic both contain general horror themes such as blood, gore, death, decay, body horror, and darker themes like obsession, stalking, manipulation, etc.

They won't be super frequent on his blog as they are in the comic, but please keep it in mind if you are sensitive to the topics.

In general, I consider his media 18+ for all the darker themes and gore.

If you wanna interact with him or his media there are a couple rules/boundaries that I have for him.

PLEASE don't call Buddy a yandere nor associate him with the genre.

Don't infantilize or romanticize his actions. You can call him cute and say you wanna fix him, but if you're out here being like "I want him to manipulate and abuse me." I'm gonna ask you to stop and likely block you.

While he is a serial killer and has some darker themes, and I'm fine with headcanons, please don't go wild and headcanon that he does some super heinous stuff like r@pe or anything like that. SO PRO/DARK SHIPPERS Y'ALL BETTER KEEP OUT CAUSE I'LL BE WATCHIN' Y'ALL. Also, not saying those type of slasher characters can't exist! I'm just not comfortable with Buddy being that type.

If you're a fascist/bigot, trump/ice supporter, genocide supporter, etc. LEAVE.

progress on writing and designinf is going awesome i feel like ice king getting fiona and cake beamed into his mind

hopefully i'll be getting this pizza hut job so i dont have to spend most of my time looking for jobs and stressing anymore

How is your audience supposed to not infantilize your oc if your ocs purpose is to be infantilized

im not entirely sure where you got that his purpose is to be infantilized but it just isn't? he infantilizes himself sometimes if it'd benefit him in a situation, he's a manipulator at heart

he won't always have this uwu soft boy cinnamon roll facade he puts on in the comic, he has plenty of personalities he made to use in front of specific people and groups in order to befriend them

i think i can get where the confusion could come from but his purpose, as a character, is to show the side effects of neglecting your mental health, the harm certain ways of viewing mental health can have, along with some societal commentary and how therapy is demonized, especially here in the south

maybe you read an old post when i was still figuring him out. if the post doesnt have the tags the pinned one has then consider it unrelated or retconned.

one of the things im looking forward to, if the comic goes well, is hopefully having folks interested in psychology like me who'll take the time to analyze buddy's behaviors and thought patterns to make their own theories as to whats going on with him

i intend to add plenty of behaviors falling under multiple disorders but wanna leave it up in the air for freedom of character analysis, like samantha from beneath the trees! its never confirmed inside nor outside the material whats going on with her, to my knowledge, but there was definitely some bits inspired by actual behaviors for people to use for their own interpretations

btwns is probably my biggest inspiration for this comic as a whole and if you havent checked it out yet j HIGHLY reccomend you do! if you can support the official release then please do, as always.

What is Patchwork Heart?

Disclaimer: This media is intended for an 18+ audience and will contain general horror, dark, and mature themes such as gore, obsession, stalking, manipulation, cheating and homewrecking, and way, WAY more. Buddy is one messed up lil guy. This media is not meant to romanticize or justify these behaviors and topics, nor do I want them to be romanticized or justified even if its fiction. I kindly ask my boundaries be respected, and thank you to those who do.

The comic is a story in the perspective of the killer, inspired by medias like Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees.

They're both medias focused on the killers, giving us a view into their work and mindsets but never outright giving their motives.

We follow Buddy, a kind man who loves to travel, make friends, help the community, and partake in some light gardening to bake treats to share.

Buddy's motives are planned to be revealed but only after a while. Its a longer story that rewards patience and utilizes suspense and smaller, ambient horror before hitting you with the scare.

So if you like horror that focuses on psychology, topics about society, and other fun spooky things, then I ask you to give it a try!

Like I mentioned above, the comic is planned to delve into some pretty heavy and mature topics but each chapter where a warning is needed will have one at the start. Nothing sexually explicit will be depictied either, as I'm not comfortable with drawing such things, mostly just mentioned or hinted at. If you still have to skip the comic, or portion of it, a summary of whats important is provided at the bottom so you aren't left out of the story. So I thought a good first post would be a lil something to introduce my favorite lil guy. I'll be asking him various questions that you, Tumblr, have posted in the OC Questions side.

Ain't he just the cutest? Don't you wanna squish him into a marketable plushie?! Hopefully one day we all can.

Let's get on with the questions! I can barely wait!!!

Does your OC have a voice claim, if so who?

His voice claim, both speaking and singing, is Naethan Apollo. He's the one who wrote and sang one of his theme songs as well, Pretty Boy.

What’s something they’re stupidly passionate about, and how does it drive their entire life?

I guess, out of all my wonderful hobbies, I've loved dollmaking the most! Its somwthing that's stuck with me since childhood and I still practice it very regularly today!

Does your OC enjoys travelling to new places and challenging themselves with new experiences?

I LOVE TO TRAVEL!!! I've been everywhere in America, and I plan to go worldwide soon! I'm just trying to learn how to become a polyglot first so there won't be any barries to making brand new friends!

Has your OC always had a clear idea of the kind of person they would fall in love with? Were they right? Or do they have yet to find out?

Taller, large, able to bear hug me, not adverse to clingy cuddles, chub is welcomed, warm, maybe a bit grumpy.

How much interest does your OC take in the love lives of others?

I've gotta know everything about everyone! ♡

Is your OC a "good sport"? Or do they bristle at the first sign of disrespect or mockery?

How good is your OC at recognising sarcasm and/or irony?

I'm the goodest sport you'll ever meet!

He's really good at hiding his anger.

He used to be clueless about it until he began to study human behavior through self-education, practice, and the bit of college he got.

If they played Dungeons and Dragons, what would their character be like?

Why a friendly and funny little bard of course! Although the more magic based classes seem fun!

Does your OC like to tease or mock others?

How important is it to your OC that they are desirable? Does it matter to whom?

I will admit, I love to do some playful teasing here and there.

Buddy has insulted people he disliked to their face with a smile and got away with it.

If Buddy isn't beloved by everyone at all times he crashes out, especially if he has a crush of the week.

Does your OC utilise their looks to get their own way?

Oh 100%. He practically infantilizes himself and plays dumb if it'll help him. He's 35 and a borderline genius with human behaviors and psychology.

Is your OC open about their past and their current motivations?

Hehehe~! Wouldn't you like to know?

Is breaking the law sometimes justified in your OC's view?

Everything I do is for the good of my friends. I just want to protect them! They're better off with me.

How handy is your OC in a fight?

What’s your character’s biggest fear and how does it screw up their relationships?

Well his kill count is at 28, according to police records so it could be higher, and he still has all his parts. So I'd say he could probably go against anybody.

I've taken out guys twice my size! ^^ Its all about playing the defense!

Paranoia, Self-Loathing, and a whole load of other stuff all gone undiagnosed and unnoticed. Buddy had therapy demonized to him for his entire life and it continues into adulthood. The one time he got dragged into therapy by a friend he woke up to a bloodbath and needing to flee.

What’s one childhood memory they can’t shake and how did it shape the way they see the world now?

I trusted them. They hurt me. I saw them hurt others. I'm the only one who does anything to save them. They'll only know my love.
