The funny thing about people acting like Taylor had lost all of her songwriting abilities when showgirl came out is that she put out the most eloquent, lyrically dense 31-track album the year before. She put out songs that said things like “say it once again with feeling how the death rattle breathing silenced as the soul was leaving, the deflation of our dreaming leaving me bereft and reeling, my beloved ghost and me sitting in a tree d-y-i-n-g” the year before and people thought her songwriting abilities had just vanished? God forbid a woman want to have fun and write something campy after pouring out her deepest, darkest secrets
i always forget that taylor swift is one of the biggest popstars ever and any time i listen to her im like has anyone ever heard of this woman.
this swiftie shit really is forever. i'm hand-hearting to i knew it i knew you
A GIRL FROM NASHVILLE SINGS AND THE WORLD LISTENS
TAYLOR SWIFT | “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Toy Story 5
“Inspired by the rootin’ tootin’ cowgirl Jessie’s ongoing journey in ‘Toy Story 5’ that began back in ‘Toy Story 2,’ ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ also marks a return to Taylor Swift’s country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist.”

i’m getting ready to yeehaw
It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠
You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 will be yours on June 5th. I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?
You can pre-order now exclusively on my site and catch Toy Story 5 in theaters June 19th ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️

The New York Times Magazine polled more than 250 music insiders and gathered six Times critics to choose the 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters. One artist who made the list was Taylor Swift. The writer Joe Coscarelli met with Swift in Los Angeles to talk about the craft of songwriting. In this 30-minute interview, Swift explains her process, the stories behind some of her biggest hits, her love of a “rant bridge” and how life in the public eye informs the stories she tells in her songs
