I submitted my Questbridge app today.

You know who did the teen hero thing right? Kim Possible, that’s who. She never messed around with that secret identity thing or with not letting her parents or friends know what she was doing so she never had to deal with, “Oh, I’m gonna miss this important family event to save the world” or, “What’ll happen in my friends find out my secret identity?” bullcrap. It was like, “Mom, Dad. I gotta go deal with this Drakken sitch,” and they’d just be like, “Have fun. Tell Ron we said hi.” She had that hero/personal life balance thing on lock. I aspire to have my life as in balance as Kim Possible.

Really happy because I get to go in and pick up my sight I sent in to get fixed, and have a new string and rest put on my bow.

And new arrows to match the new bow.

A got a bunch of old/broken arrows when I bought the recurve bows so those got cut down and refletched. A dozen new ones were also bought so that brings me to 4 dozen arrows!

Easton Carbon Ones are really good arrows to use on a budget. I stand by them because all my scores so far have been shot with carbon ones and I’m not sure using X10s will improve my score that much.

That being said though, I’ll still get X10s when I can afford it. Any other arrow suggestions?

I shoot Carbon Tech McKinney 2 for anything FITA over 50m. I shoot Carbon Express CXL Pros for Field/3D and FITA under 50m. I got CXLs because I wanted a lighter fat arrow. I think they're about the same size as Fat Boys and are about 300 grains.

I hate temporary zeros. They are not motivational, they are stressful.

It wasn't hard for me. I took it last year though so I don't really remember how complex it was.

This is the best week ever! I got a 31 on my ACT, got a car, and got the Questbridge College Prep Scholarship!

I REALLY, REALLY want to enroll in FLVS online school (yes I know it's late in the year). I've wanted to do this for around two years now, public school really isn't for me. I already take a class through FLVS and I'm easily passing it. On the other hand, in public school, I struggle to focus with all my classmates and it's hard to get help from my teachers (and my grades show it). My mom is fine with it, but my dad says it's like giving up and is for failures. Tips to convince him?

You can tell him that many students from Connections Academy have gone on to study at some of the best colleges in the nation, including Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford. If it were just “for failures”, CA students wouldn’t get into these amazing schools. FLVS seniors specifically were accepted to the best Florida schools and some other great schools last year, including Vanderbilt University and NYU. You could also explain to him how you think you would thrive academically much better in an online setting. You aren’t giving up; you are trying to take steps toward the best education you can possibly get. Read our FAQ for more tips. Remember to stay calm and listen to your dad’s concerns. My parents were pretty against me doing FLVS FT, but I showed them an online information session and they were okay with it then.

Bought myself a new scope. Loving it because I can adjust it for the light. Now to just set my sight adjustments for it! Then I can sight in and go kick butt at nationals.
