But i do wonder what connors ride or die bailey might hypothetically think or feel about the whole situation.
Does she like get the whole picture and just offers support and advice (and maybe a shoulder to cry on after a night of wine and cigarettes on the patio) for her bff? Does she encourage action or does she try to re-direct his focus?
Full disclosure. I follow her on insta but don't like or comment anything. She seems like a really cool l.a. chick and an actually good actress (as seen in connors short film released back in april). I imagine her life (so strange i know) a bit like the characters in rachel sennots show "i love la". A bit scrappy and manic but cool and full of life and lust.

now I don't know a thing about her (I'm glad she seems cool! and yay another I Love LA enjoyer) but I feel like a mark of any good friendship is to be there to listen. just let 'em talk! on and on about how sweet and kind and talented and wow, we have all the same interests, the same energy, just smiling and nodding like wow! he seems great. can't wait to meet him. don't try and give it a name before he does. so she lets the bestie talk hang all through their facetimes on set and it's not until he's home and they're maybe smoking a bit of weed or drinking together one night and she can set the trap, carefully. 'so his girlfriend doesn't mind how close you are?' he knows what she's doing of course, so suddenly out it comes: don't want to fall for another unavailable guy, never had a guy friend like this before, confusing because we had to kiss so much he's worried the show messed with his brain. best to spend some time apart and let it grow back into a friendship. and she nods like, ok. sounds good. healthy.
then a few months later she gets to meet him, Mr Soulmate, and he is very charming and fun and handsome but oh, wow. he's so in love with her Connor. sees it from the moment she stands up from the table at the restaurant to greet them as they walk in nudging shoulders, the way Hudson pulls connor's chair out for him. the way they sit next to each other, always calling back an in joke, hand on the arm, hand on the thigh, hand on the face, thumb brushing away an eyelash, intimacy so casual it's scary. she's not jealous really, but she is protective of him. he's in way too deep obviously, and she doesn't want him to get hurt. when Hudson leaves she goes to connor's one night and he can't stop talking. we kissed, it's getting messy, I love him so much but we both know it can't happen. got to keep it together while the show goes out, then we can figure it out. sounds smart, she says, as long as you think waiting for him is going to work out? sounds like you're kinda hoping he's going back to break up with his gf. Connor dances around it, all 'we just have to wait. the show will be out soon, then we can figure it out'
then, woah, suddenly the show is out and her best friend is really really gone, a guy who belongs to the world now, not just her. they barely text, a few facetimes, he's so happy and so excited, and so lucky to have Hudson with him, he says it all the time. she never brings up what they talked about before. and then it's Christmas, and she's back with her family, and she asks hey, what are we doing for new years this year? a day before he replies, sorry, I'm on my way to the airport, Hudson invited me to vancouver. now that stings a bit, dropped for a boy! an unavailable boy at that. and she remembers the times she's done the same thing to him, chasing some bad-for-her guy down to San Diego or Cabo for a long weekend of sex and figure-it-out-later regrets. well, let him get it out of his system, she thinks. her happy new year text is muted and she gets back a blurry selfie of the two of them, cheeks smushed together. feels passive aggressive. he comes back and she gets half an afternoon with him, beaming all smiles, and she asks him plainly, 'so he broke up with the gf'? the smile dims. not exactly, he says, which she finds out later means not at all, but he's lost now. he's got everything else he wanted so maybe he can have this too, he says. not super convincing. she reminds him what he said in October, to wait, to not fall for another unavailable guy again. he's so sure that Hudson will be different. she isn't going to argue with him, because he can't be argued with like this, like trying to scale a sheer rock face with he bare hands. so she resolves to keep her mouth shut and listen. and she'll be there when it ends up hurting him so much it makes him cry. like she always is.
