Dante's nightmare for sure...

Also a sketch inspired by "angel of darkness" lololol made his wings feather-like

hi i promise im not dead. ive been spending 50% of my free time this summer binging and being hyperfixated on all of the dmc games… so… um. anyway. vergil wip.

Replaying dmc 5 in son of Sparda mode and after dying in the Vergil fight numerous times, it made me wonder what Vergil would have done if he killed Dante during that fight. From the way Dante gave up the deed to his shop, we can guess Dante had no intentions of living past that if he killed Vergil (we can even see that Morrison has an inkling of this because of his concern at the beginning of the game) All I can think about is that panel in Visions of V where V finally reaches the little Vergil. Kid Vergil representing his heart saying "fighting with Dante is the best"

#it would have DESTROYED him i think #he agreed too easily when Nero stepped in and said no one was dying for me to think he had any intention of actually ending Dante #he was willing to come back to his brother once he knew that Dante still needed his big brother #I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT THIS #and I have to get them out somehow CRYING #devil may cry #dmc dante #dmc vergil #dmc v #visions of v

This moment in Vergil’s story is heartbreaking

#this honestly haunts me #thinking of little baby vergil who has always had eva or sparda to protect him #suddenly hes alone #calling for dante or his mom to come save him #but when he realizes no one is coming the light is just extinguished from his eyes #you see the moment his innocence is torn to shreds #ITS HEARTBREAKING #devil may cry #dmc vergil
