larry is the only canonically straight character if you present ron delite's profile to him he says no matter how hard he tries he's just not attracted to men. the implication that he tried to turn himself gay at some point is interesting though I guess
HELP REALLY ???
@awardsaa
I know this is an old post, but here’s the whole conversation:
It’s essentially his stock response for being shown a profile once you clear his psyche-lock. Because when you show him a profile that isn’t his, Pheonix’s, or relevant to the case (Gumshoe’s and Bullard’s), he thinks Phoenix is trying to set him up with a date on them. This includes Masque DeMasque’s profile. He has a tailored response for all of the women, but gives the generic one for all the men. Even Godot.
Also the implication of these extra lines are:
1. Larry thinks he could turn his life around if he got a boyfriend.
2. Maya has a very interesting definition of a stereotypical guy.
[Image description: six screencaps from Ace Attorney - Trial & Tribulations.
1: Larry Butz is crying and says, "But the thing is... I just don't have any interest in men."
2: Same as 1, except text has been added to the top and bottom that reads: I'm sorry for being straight I di I didn't do it on purpose".
3 to 6: the rest of the above conversation. Larry says, "I'm really sorry, Nick! I swear I want to change my ways. But the thing is... I just don't have any interest in men." Phoenix thinks, (This guy really needs to get his mind out of the gutter...) Maya says, "Larry's your stereotypical guy, alright." End description.]
