News on the 29/6 Fan Meeting
Just thought you guys might be interested in the shit that’s going down with the fan party on the 29th currently hahaha! Nothing really major or anything to yell or complain about but it’s quite interesting to see IMO - Just an observation on what’s been happening these two days
The fan party is on 29th June at 1.30pm, this was announced about three weeks ago and tickets went on sale last week as some of you may know
History Pass Membership - There’re three tiers of History memberships with the most expensive being 9999 NTD which is about 320 USD - The Gold Card - and the most important thing about buying this card is that you get: An afternoon tea party session with the cast and in this case - Andy, Chris, Kenny, Jake
People who buy the Gold Card obviously want to get up close and personal with the cast, which is why you kind of fork out about 300 USD to buy the pass rather than get Silver or the normal membership (because these other two cheaper cards let you have access to Line TV and also premium access to sales to fan parties etc. or merchandise)
Gold Pass before this week was limited to a quantity of 200 - Which means at max there should only be 200 people for the afternoon tea (although how the afternoon tea happens I’m not sure, like is it in batches or at once because 200 ppl still seem like a lot for an intimate afternoon tea session if you get what I mean)
So literally just yesterday or a day ago - Choco (who’s in charge of the events and also anything related to the memberships etc.) announced that they also, would put the Afternoon Tea that all these people paid 300+ bucks for on the same day as the fan meeting, 29 June 2019, at 4.30pm
Additionally - They would extend purchase timing and quantity for the Gold Cards until I think next Monday (as of this week Monday before this news broke out there were about 76 or 92 people who’d already bought the Gold Card)
The afternoon tea session will be held basically a few floors upstairs from the fan meeting event venue, in the same building
So apparently you still need to pay a fee or get a ticket to the afternoon tea session even though you’ve paid for the Gold Card, and it states in the Gold Card benefits that you will guaranteed have one afternoon tea session - So this kind of confuses me and I can see why people who forked out 300 bucks are mad
Fan meeting wise - Because there’s basically at least a talking segment by the cast, followed by probably a game or two and interaction with fans through games - And all 700-750 fans for the fan-meeting basically get to hi-five and take photos with the cast, it’s almost impossible to finish everything within 2.5 to 3 hours, and that’s only if the event starts on time
Some fans who went for Andy’s birthday party fan meeting said that the event was scheduled to finish at about 1 or 2pm but dragged onto almost 4pm because of the logistics and basically fan numbers
While other fans have also highlighted that the previous fanmeeting itself had only 300 people but the event was more or less still delayed as well in almost the same format as the next one - So if they do go through with the whole programme and deliver on what they promised the fans-
It’s impossible for the entire event to finish in 2.5-3 hours in time for the afternoon tea, which means they’ll probably cut into the fanmeeting time
Not only that, they’re only letting the 700 fans for the fanmeeting be seated half an hour before the thing begins at 1.30pm so we can all imagine the possible delays
Personally, I don’t really mind as long as I get to see them and if they cut it short so the four of them get some rest before being rushed off to the afternoon tea but you can imagine how some other fans would be mad
No rest time for the cast - They’re probably not going to get any sort of rest time in between the fan meeting and the afternoon tea - and I’m most worried about this because it’s so stressful and exhausting for the cast like they’ve got to interact on stage for the fan-meeting then go to the afternoon tea and mix with… idk how many people and have to talk to them all etc. - Not to forget that from 200 people they’re now going to have to be in the afternoon tea session with don’t know how many people since Choco increased the max quantity of the cards literally a week and a half before the afternoon tea
Abrupt timing of announcement - Since people actually paid 300 USD for the benefit of the tea session, fans are saying that it’s obvious that Choco wants to save costs and just throw it on the same day as the fan meeting which shortchanges both fans going for the fanmeeting and also the ones going for the tea session
Some fans who have the Gold Card and are going for the fanmeeting have already booked air tickets to go home and made plans - So Choco’s timing of announcement has basically given them no choice at all to attend the event
So after major criticisms by the fans to Choco, they responded yesterday by saying that it’s because they asked the fans who’d already bought the Gold Cards, and the feedback was that they wanted the afternoon tea to be in Taipei, and that’s why they’re holding it then
But fans pointed out that yes, hold the afternoon tea in Taipei, but no one said anything about holding it on the same day as the fan meeting
Gold card members who already bought the card in the beginning and then are made to face the conditions of the afternoon tea session now by Choco are also disadvantaged as well because what was supposed to be exclusive has now been opened to whoever is willing to pay the 300 bucks, in any numbers possible
Most fans are worried about the cast - With all the drama going on with the fandom in the past two weeks, plus this tight schedule - They’re all worried that the four of them will be exhausted etc.
Choco baffles and exhausts me in general in organising the fan meeting and afternoon tea haha - I see some fans on social media not wanting to go entirely after buying the tickets because the situation is really quite ridiculous and the numbers of fans on that day…. no one has any idea what’s going to happen. Can you imagine how tired the cast is with all the drama and unhappy fans and it’s not even their fault? As far as I know this noise hasn’t been directed at them (and shouldn’t be) but they’ve no doubt heard about the noise by now - and this is why we can’t have nice things HAHAHA
