I’m just gonna go ahead and believe that since Thomas would have been busy being a doctor it was Martha who was mostly involved in running WE and anytime someone tried to mention it to Thomas he was like, no Martha’s great she’s a whiz at this stuff don’t worry about it, annoying everyone from his family to the WE board of directors with his refusal to entertain their sexism

No because Tim's time as Robin is so fucking crazy. Like Jason dies, Batman has a full on suicidal breakdown until Tim steps in. Things are ~okay~ for a while. Like not great - his parents are kidnapped and his mom dies - but it's normal for a Robin. But then Bruce has a steady decline in mental health, leading up to Knightfall where his fucking back is broken and he almost dies. Then he quits. Then he replaces himself with an unstable man who kicks Tim out and then becomes legitimately scary. Then Batman comes back and you think things will get back to normal but no. Kid gets shot in his school. A plague breaks out in Gotham. And I haven't even gotten to No Man's Land yet.....

My only problem with Jason is that the fandom tends make him a crime lord saint? And I mean that with all due respect, but it just doesn't work. I love the stories where Jason tries to live with the family and get used to the fact that there are people who care about him no matter what! But also, a small part of me just wants there to be consequences for his actions.

I mean, I want Cass to give him that look when she hears he killed someone and he isn't remorseful. I want Stephanie to roll her eyes when she hears how crime alley is"his territory," and I want Duke to say,"Yeah, and like the rest of the gangs, we don't respect their 'territory." I want to see how he'll come back to the family and how their philosophies clash despite their love for him, with all of their past actions haunting them all in the background cause sometimes the fandom it feel like Bruce actions are the only one that have any kind of consequence

I see this problem. I think this is largely DC's problem of trying to push the limits of Bruce's character only without challenging that of other characters... because DC comics loves recycling the same material to make the same product that will be recycled again istg

Jason's philosophy and theme (revenge and the limits/value of forgiveness) has just as many societal and logical flaws as Bruce's (limitless reconciliation and redemption)... and in this political climate, it has more

I think this is why I like Task Force Z the most because it's a unique take of Jason's post-resurrection life direction has refreshingly punishes Jason for not putting his whole heart in the ability to see merit in the concept of human life and dignity, and endangering himself at the cost of his own pride

I think more content about Jason should really double down on this whole battle cry of accountability that his character functions on and turn it around on him

Jason needs to sorely be reminded that there's a Catherine Todd in every cokehead, and a Willis Todd in every organized crime lackey, and a Bruce Wayne in every insane person posturing as a messiah and a Jason Todd in every shivering victim who is tired and simply doesn't want to see more red
