Working with a Yamaha DM2000 today. Its my first time on this particular desk, so I'm still kinda "button hunting" till i get my footing. But if your lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on many different sound boards, you learn that all mixers essentially do the same thing - they just have different layouts. Yes, some desks have unique routing options and prety flashing LED's.... but once you understand the concept of signal flow & gain structure, it just takes practice & patience to learn exactly where everything is. Now..... time to get back to work.

Theatre life

There is a big burly man rigging our lights and sound tonight and as we were chatting I stopped him because he had a Peter Pan tattoo on his arm!! Everything stopped for 10 minutes while we both talked about our mutual desire to create the ultimate Peter Pan production. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

OMG! Story of my life! I’ve been trying to convince my theatre company to do Peter Pan for YEARS. But every time ....I’m denied..... because “we don’t have a fly system” And I’m like, no one expects a local children’s theatre company to have fly rigs. We can do it w fucking shadow puppets....or lighting.... or THEATRE MAGIC. DUH. 

So anybody who wants to do Peter Pan..... call me! =]
