Junk Food Free September - Scared as shit.
The housemate and I have decided to do Junk Food Free September, as the title suggests, I'm scared. It's definitely going to be a challenge because we both work at McDonalds... fun times.
Wish us luck, and if you have any advice, please pass it on to me in the Ask section :)
From this point forward, I promise to give my health 110%. I promise to take my fitness journey seriously. No more "starting tomorrow." I promise to start "today." I promise to stay committed, and never get up. It's time to get serious.
STAY MOTIVATED EVERYDAY
I just want to be healthy again. Not that i was uber healthy before, but I've been ridiculously sick for the past 2 weeks, it's the longest i've ever been continuously sick. I have no voice and I feel like crap. :( I want to get back into exercise, and happy happy joy things and work :)
Stress Eating.
At the start of this week I tried to turn things around by joining weight watchers. Then tonight I got some bad news that's only going to get worse in the next few days/weeks so i lost it and just finished a block of chocolate, a tub of peanut butter icrecream and a packet of biscuits.
Emotional eating in it's raw form. How I don't miss it.
UPDATE: GOUT... Can't walk
So I haven't been to the gym in weeks, initially we postponed Insanity because my friend was too stressed out with exams. Then I got my tattoo so it was postponed further. Then we both just got lazy. Now, I've put weight back on, and a few days ago I had this burning shooting pain in my foot - today it got unbearable and my toe was super swollen and purple and yellow -- I couldn't bend my toe because it was so swollen, and i couldn't put any weight on the ball of my foot. Went to the doctors and it was a real wake up call to my bad health habits. Good old Gout. Uric Acid buildup in my toe joint causing pain and inflammation. Basically a combination of factors caused this - lack of Vitamins, dehydration, overweight, and eating too many sugars. It was a way overdue reminder that something's gotta change... I'm in so much pain at the moment that I don't ever want this to happen again - so... today it's now or never. Reduce sugar, drastically reduce junk food intake, INCREASE water intake ... get my vitamins and shed some serious kilos.
At this point - I'm suppose to stay off my foot for a few days and i'm on some anti-inflammatories - so that should fix it up, but i can't go backwards anymore - the only way is forward.

something i always forget...
Woke up after having a few lazy as days, change the channel from the soccer, ad there was an Insanity infomercial on - just the encouragement I needed to get back on track. Once my tattoo is done and healed, I'm back on track!
This is getting ridiculous
So this is ultra personal - sure this entire fitblr is a personal account of my fitness journey, but this part - this is my health both mental and physical and i don't even know...
Basically, I've always known Cancer kinda ran in my family - but it just keeps being more and more of a risk. In '94, I lost my mum to a brain tumour - I was only little so really, it didn't make me sad at the time, but as time passes I realise all the things i've missed out on having a mum, and how much i miss her, and how much I need her around. In '03, my brother had a brain tumour - lucky for us it was benign, he got it removed well most of it, and he's been okay ever since, he just has no peripheral vision in his left eye, meaning if you stand next to him on the side and wave your hand at him , he won't see it. In '04 I lost my Grandfather on my mum's side to Cancer again, he was the one member of that side of the family that I was closest to, he was the one who always tried to keep a strong connection with me to make up for Mum not being there, despite the fact he lived 4 hours away... that's when it started being a bit too much... my Uncle (my mum's brother) had a brain tumour, also benign and he's okay now too. But last week , my aunt on that side as well was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, it's spread to her liver and vertebrae... It's like it getting everyone, and it scares me everyday i notice anything slightly off about myself - but each day i lie to myself and say everything has to be okay. there can't be anything wrong there's not allowed to be, and i continue being ignorant until i remember again how high a risk there is.
Basically this is just me freaking out - how do i even make such an appointment to find out these things, to test these things?!?! I'm scared as fuck, everytime i think something could be wrong, I think about what it'd be like to die, and I can't even deal with that. So for today, I'm just... gonna wallow... it's not good, I know, but it's how i'm coping. Tomorrow I'll be back to normal , for at least an hour and it'll be bliss. Ignorance truly is Bliss.
Dreams
I had this random dream the other night that this guy came through my work, and was like, you deserved all that shit that happened to you, those guys should be done much worse, and it rattled so much that the next day I vowed to move on and I changed a lot of shit in my life for the better. And it's gotten me thinking, why wait for something to rattle me like that, surely the fact that I've put on 75% of the weight I'd worked so hard to lose and I barely have any friends, well only one or two that will actually spend time with me willingly, surely that should motivate me to start making the changes NOW. This week, sure it's a week of Insanity, and i won't be able to do a whole lot of exercise because of the whole foot thing, but it's a week to get my shit together. To reconnect with friends, make new friends, make myself better.
Halfway - Restart
Hey Guys,
So you'll have noticed my friend and I have been doing the Insanity workout, and in the last couple of weeks have hit some hurdles in completing them each day. We've realised that we haven't really been putting everything we have into them, with exams, and injury, we've just been too stressed out and tired. So we're going to take next week off - which works well because I'm getting a foot tattoo on Tuesday which will mean I can't wear shoes and will probs stay off my foot for a day or so... and because she has exams. And then we're going to start all over again, putting in full effort.
I'm proud of myself for getting this far into the program, honestly I thought I'd quit after the very first week. But given the difficulties I've had with my diet, my body's just been pretty much messed up the entire time so it's been pretty darn hard to put even 70% effort into workouts. Here's to being better second time around, here's to hopefully following the routine a little better.
This next time, I hope to be better all around, but also improve my accountability - I will be here daily... updating all stats and workouts, and posting what I eat and drink, cos that way, if you're reading and you think I'm doing something stupid or fatty, or whats the word I'm looking for - counterproductive to my weight loss journey - call me out on it. Thanks to all those who are actually reading my posts - somehow I have 90 followers, and I know that's thanks to Sharee at funeralformyfat because she promoted a couple of my pre-workout selfies and that's how I got followers :) I do appreciate that, she's amazing, she's one of my major inspirations :)
