being an adult is just saying to yourself “this is the weekend i’ll clean my [x]” and then proceeding to not do that because it’s the weekend and you deserve to relax, goddamnit
why does this have 85K notes
because we reblogged it instead of cleaning our [x]
life is so much better when u stop hyperanalysing urself and realise u can’t hate urself into being better u just have to accept ur a lil weird n fucked up slightly but it’s not that deep just live
how can people joke about trans guys all having the same five names when pitbull owners posting about Bear/Luna/Bella/Thor/Nala are right there.
Once met a dude with a pitbull named Örmö. If you're wondering how that's pronounced, it sounds exactly like the sound of a pitbull throwing up an entire hoodie it somehow swallowed whole.

When I look out at the multitudes of treetops from my rooftop, I can feel how stable the earth is. It almost feels like the world is stationary, movement doesn't exist — all that exists is just the here and now, just the trees and little ol' me. Almost like I'm the only one still existing.
It's paradoxically depressing and comforting at the same time. This feeling of "Does nobody else but me exist? Am I all alone?" coincides with the feelings of "I'm all alone. I'm free. From expectations and responsibilities. It's just me, myself and I here."
It's so funny how when I'm with people, I feel a crippling loneliness, like I don't belong here, like I wasn't made for whatever this was. But when I'm with the trees, it feels like I'm in the midst of long-lost friends. It feels like this right here, far removed from society, in the midst of nature's children, is where I really belong. That this is where home is.
With the trees, I can be anything I want. I can be me or I can be somebody else and I'd have nobody to answer to. I can be everything I want and everything I don't want. I can be myself without any fear. I can finally let down all of walls, fears and anxieties. I can finally let go.

Using tumblr is like living in a low class apartment building. You just get used to the landlord not fixing things, and then someone new moves in and you're helpfully like "oh yeah don't drink the tap water, it's got stuff in it that makes you sick" and then your neighbor you've had forever goes "oh they took the stuff out actually" and you're like "what? when was this?"
"like two years ago"
"you mean i could've been drinking the tap water all this time?"
"yeah. they gave us individual mailboxes too finally, you don't have to dig through the communal bin anymore"
"are you for real right now?? i just redirected my mail, i didnt know"
and the new tennant is like "why did you guys even live here if it was so bad"
"we like it."
"I kinda miss the communal mail bin tho"
"the perpetually naked guy got evicted though"
"i know, so sad. he was really gross"
"i mean, his cousin streaks through the commons sometimes and knocks on all the doors"
"oh yeah, hate that guy"
New Person: I just saw this weird guy in the lobby in a really creepy anthropomorphic Pikachu costume??????
Old Resident: yeah we have no idea where that guy came from. We've left messages with maintenance 'bout 'im but-
Other Old Resident: just don't make eye contact and you should be fine.
"what are these strange markings in the paint?"
"Oh! Thats from the crab infestation!"
"The crab infestation?! Wow, glad they got that under control before I moved in."
"Oh, no no, it was an intentional infestation."
"Uh...."
"Yeah, we're hoping they bring the crabs back next year. A lot of us made friends with those crabs."
No, I'm not joking, he doesnt just look like him, I swear to God neil gaiman lives across the hall.
"Don't let the past blackmail your present into ruining a beautiful future."
-Dr. Jehangir Khan (Jug), Dear Zindagi
This quote is going to stay with me for a long, long time. One if my favourite things about this movie was how the relationship between Kaira and Dr. Khan didn't end in a romantic one. Many people end up projecting their thoughts and feelings onto their therapist: some start hating them, some fall in love with them, some end up seeing them as a parent. Basically, people usually assign roles to their therapists depending on their own life experiences. But a therapist is, at then end, just that: a therapist. They're not here to have any prolonged relationship with their patients outside of their sessions.
Another thing I really loved was the ending scene where Kaira plays kabaddi with the waves all on her own. A relationship may end, but the memories will remain. This is something I've always felt and which I try my best to implement in my own life. Many of the relationships in my life will very inevitably end, so I try my best to ensure that when it does, I have a truckload of good memories to carry with me when I have to finally say goodbye.
This movie is definitely going down as one of my favourites.
“what if i got worse” good point. but what if u got better and lived up to ur full potential and accomplished all ur dreams and lived ur best life and felt content with what the universe was giving u
don’t be scared to live lovingly. compliment your friends on the little things and cheer for live bands in small cafes and leave tips when you can. tell the person you saw that you really like their shirt and write cards and letters to the people you love. make playlists for people and don’t be afraid to express your appreciation for others. life is so much better when you live it with love.

It always messes with me so much that the Marathi word for 'to hit' or 'to strike' (मारणे, mārṇe) is the same as 'to kill'.

King Charles and his … consort (abridged version)
[id: screenshots of tiktok captions. the images say, “but the only reason we still love princess diana is because she did not have the time to disappoint us.”]
begging queer kids to read up on princess diana’s involvement with the community. yes, she was a rich, pretty monarch. yes, she died young.
but the reason why queer people love her is because she used her privilege during the aids crisis to advocate for sick queer men, when very few others would - much less someone of her status.
diana spent years advocating for the health and care of queer people with hiv/aids. in 1987, at the height of the epidemic, she opened the first specialist clinic dedicated to treating aids patients (the first clinic of it’s kind in the uk).
she also fought public hysteria by hugging and shaking bare hands with aids patients, at a time when aids was thought to be spread by skin to skin contact. not only that, she visited patients in the clinic regularly and even comforted them through their sickness.
and when queen elizabeth told her to try focusing on “something more pleasant”?
diana ignored her and kept fighting.
and this is only her work towards the aids crisis. she publicly called out the royal family, brought attention to numerous world issues, and was known as an advocate for empathy and kindness. she’s known and loved as the people’s princess for good reason
Currently finding my solace in 2000's songs
I wonder if there's something about the songs you grew up listening to. As someone born in the very beginning of the 2000's, the songs released throughout the decade were my whole childhood. I've noticed something similar with people born in the 90's as well. They seem to prefer 90's songs and other songs from previous decades which were prevalent in the 90's over songs from other decades. Conversely, I've also seen 00's kids prefer 90's songs which they grew up listening to due to a parent or sibling.
It's almost as if people are increasingly preferring to go back to a time when things when simpler, easier and not so dystopian.
