Edmund; The Sorcerer Type: INTJ (Mastermind)
People with the INTJ personality type take pride in remaining rational and logical at all times, considering honesty and straightforward information to be paramount to euphemisms and platitudes in almost all circumstances. In many ways though, these qualities of coolness and detachment aren't the weapons of truth that they appear to be, but are instead shields designed to protect the inner emotions that INTJs feel. In fact, because their emotions are such an underdeveloped tool, INTJs often feel them more strongly than many overtly emotional types because they simply haven't learned how to control them effectively.
Famous INTJs:
Mandy; The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy Lightning Farron; Final Fantasy XIII Batman and Scarecrow; Batman Smaug; The Hobbit MewTwo: Pokemon David Rossi; Criminal Minds Rose; Legend of the Dragoon …and a whole bunch of villains like Maleficent
To see him enjoy this meal as he did, it certainly did Kaoru good. Normally she’d get complaints from everyone who had ever eaten her meals. Maybe they simply had no taste for good food, while Edmund did. Of course, she wasn’t the best cook - she knew that herself already. She had been taught cooking by her father, while her mother had always been the one that was the best at cooking. Her father was as miserable - or maybe even more so - as she was.
“I am glad you’re enjoying it as much as you do, Edmund! Now I can prove everyone that I am good at cooking and that they shouldn’t complain as much as they do! But you don’t have to eat so fast though, you’ll hurt your stomach if you do.” He indeed was eating quickly, but actually, she was more proud than worried about it. Finally she saw someone enjoying her food - which was special. Of course, she did enjoy it herself - she was simply used to it. She barely got anything better than this, so she simply had to like it.
She herself turned back to her bowl as well, eating the meal and enjoying it even more now that Edmund was enjoying it as well, a gentle smile upon her lips.
... Enjoying it? Clearly Kaoru wasn't able to see the amount of anguish that he was going through in his eyes. Was she ignorant of the terrible taste of her own cooking, or simply sadistic? No, it couldn't be, the girl was far too innocent of a soul to be such a terrible witch that force fed men and women alike of her toxic cooking with her kind smile. However, what she said soon after clearly told him she obviously knew that she was a terrible cook. The sorcerer planned on giving her the benefit of the doubt, but....
She truly was a terrible cook.
However, after what he had said, Edmund was no longer able to take back the words of the food being 'tasty'. Instead, he had to push himself through... slowly, but surely, he made his way through the agonizing physical torture and pain simply to keep the smile on her face. It was simply a battle to keep the food down his throat without throwing up the foreign body all over the table.
Still, human body had its limits.
"Urp-." The sorcerer couldn't take it anymore, and soon after, he collapsed, unconscious.
“Oh but not all women are the same, I can assure you! I’m a whole different person than my mother was, you know.” She told him with a smile on her lips. Indeed her mother had been different - she could cook, was never violent, and not at all a fighter. She then gently shook her head as she looked at him. “Oh but it’s fine, really.”
"Oh, are you? Would you mind telling me what your mother was like?" The sorcerer inquired as he sipped on his tea, "I am sure she was a fine, caring woman such as yourself."
”I understand its slightly difficult for you to try. Let me help you out.”
"The form is very difficult... I now understand how much discipline and training it takes."
Another almost carefree smile was shown onto her thin lips as he spoke again. Azure eyes showing a slight twinkle, and she nodded slowly. She herself was glad that she didn’t get wounded, not just for herself but mostly for him. She wouldn’t want to worry him more than he already was. Actually, she didn’t want to bother him at all since he certainly had his mind on a lot of other things already, and yet she couldn’t let him go that easily. She slowly had become attached to him, though she wasn’t sure whether she saw him as more than just someone staying at the dojo for a while. Maybe she did…
“I can understand you’re weary, it must take a lot of your strength to perform such… spells.” But she blinked as he didn’t finish his sentence, wondering what he had to say before he cut it off. Maybe it was something not meant for her to hear, or it didn’t hold any value at all. She decided to let it slip, and turned around to make her way to the dojo again, together with the sorcerer, hoping that they would find peace for a while now.
“Maybe we can go out to the Akabeko tonight! That would be nice, wouldn’t it, Edmund? Just because it’s… well… kind of a special day today, don’t you agree?” A bright cheering smile was shown, already excited to go out tonight. At least it would be better than her own cooking.
She was right, it took a lot out of him simply to perform spells of such magnitude. Without sacrifices, he was going to remain exhausted of his offerings until he refilled them, but for now, he felt that keeping a smile on Kaoru's face was far more important than worrying about such trivial matters in comparison. Strange to say, she seemed to be in a festive mood tonight. What was so special about today? Still, he didn't dislike the suggestion of having them eat out.
It certainly would save him and his stomach from having to eat dreadful cooking of hers. Last time he did so, he remembered nearly crossing the river of Styx in his dream from the sheer amount of pain that it was causing his body. It went without saying that her cooking was a toxic weapon, that perhaps not even the most powerful of the gluttonous harpies would not be able to stand.
"... Hm, special day, you say?" The sorcerer tilted his head as a genuine smile graced his lips. "I do not dislike the suggestion. Very well, but I cannot have a fair miss pay for all the treat, now can I? Tis a tradition in our land that we men take care of such things when we take a lady out to rendezvous."
Eh - I've been on my Sol blog for too long. Time to get some posting done here!
"... An air about you is telling me that you are not human. What are you, little girl?"
{Great… ANOTHER weirdo.} Al mused before proceeding to answer the male, “You’re right about my being a nonhuman, but you should introduce yourself first.”
"If that is what you wish..." The male murmured, "My name is Edmund, a sorcerer, and you are...?"
SOUL SACRIFICE
"Ah… who are you?"
"I am but a simple traveler, but if you must know...." The sorcerer adjusted his hood, "Edmund, a sorcerer."
"Sometimes I wonder if I could’ve been something else in life."
"Something... else?"
"Don't die... Don't die on me. Please... So many have already died... I can't lose you too ol' man..." The teenager was sobbing, attempting to hold it back as the tears flowed off her cheeks and onto the other without much notice. Her fingers wrapped around his, green aura covering the wound in an attempt to heal it but... She was obviously not a trained healer and had no clue on what to do for such a major hit. "P-please don't die on me, I don't want to be alone again..."
"Don’t… die… Please…. many… died….."
A desperate voice echoed in his ear as the sorcerer slowly regained his consciousness. Little by little his sense of touch and sensation came back to him once more. Accompanied by a lukewarm warmth on his back and series of aches on his body, his amber eyes slowly opened and the first thing he saw was that he was lying on the ground in his own pool of blood before turning his attention towards his battered and bloodied body broken beyond repair.
"That’s right… I… fought and won, didn’t I?"
At his side, he saw Kaida, who was desperately attempting to mend the wounds on his body, sobbing as she did so. Somewhere in her mind, she must’ve realized that it was a futile attempt, Edmund, too, realized that her efforts would all be for naught. Little by little, he could feel his consciousness fading away once again and it took all he had to keep himself awake.
Death would soon come for him, but strangely, he felt nothing. He didn’t feel the same amount of fear he had thought he would. For once, he felt… at peace. It was quiet. The raving monster, his own rage had finally become pacified, and the anguished souls, screaming in his arm had dimmed and faded. The rustling of leaves from the trees and the choir of birds put him all the more at ease.
Also, the sky was blue beautiful today. It was clear, there was not a single cloud to blot out the rays of the sun basking down upon the two, and the cool breeze enveloped them in its gentle, compassionate embrace like that of a mother. It was a shame to cry at a day like this. A parting should always be with a smile.
"… Don’t cry…." Most genuine smile creased across Edmund’s lips as he gently ran his gloved hand on her cheeks to wipe away the tears, "Haven’t you shed enough tears…?"
Gabriel continued to keep the silent act towards Edmund, staring at the bonfire. She was trying not to make herself snap at this guy, because she knows if she does that, it would make her situation worse.
She listened to his explanation in silence, letting out a sigh after he was done with his conclusion. Maybe talking things out would ease my mind, she thought. “Have you ever had nightmares that constantly lurk in your head, that it would make you sleepless?” Gabriel started off in a monotonous voice, keeping her emotionless mask on her face. “I’ve been having these same nightmares since I was…revived. It they would never stop haunting me, not even an empty head would stop it from coming.”
There was a moment of silence between the two. Edmund's amber eyes watched her from beyond the flames, patiently waiting for her to speak up. Eventually, the sorcerer took it as a sign that she had no desire to talk, and as he had promised, he decided that it was best not to pry about it - that is until the Gabriel opened her mouth to speak once more. And she asked the sorcerer if he ever had nightmares that made him lack sleep. Though his case was different than what she had spoke of, he commonly did have nightmares about the souls of his victims imprisoned in his right arm. He experienced their emotions, thoughts and memories when he dreamt. Though it might've been pleasant reliving one of their memories from time to time, but it was more often a terrible one than not.
However, what Gabriel said next gave a brief moment of pause for the sorcerer.
Revived?
Just what did she mean by that? Was she... undead of some sort? Impossible, then how would she possibly be dreaming and sleeping like a regular human being? Those questions would have to wait for some other time.
"Indeed." The sorcerer spoke as he fed the hungry bonfire using the wood that was sitting at his side, "Nightmares come to me on a regular-basis as well, hence the reason why I, too often feel the same restlessness as you do. However, remedy for such nightmares in your case may rather be simple.... Or, at least, that what I would like to believe"
It has such cool art, man.

"Stay with me. Come on, just a little longer."
"You're gonna be fine, okay? You... You'll be fine."
"No. Oh, no. No no no. This can't happen. No. You can't die."
"Shush, just concentrate on staying awake, okay? Don't sleep."
"Oh my god... Don't give up! You can't give up!"
"You can make it through this. I know you can. Y-you have to..."
"Where did they shoot you!? Where did they sh-- Oh... Oh, god... Oh please no..."
"The doctor explained everything to me... I... I can't just let you go like this. I need you."
"Oh, god. Please be alive. Please still be alive."
"There's nothing they can do. I-- I'm so sorry."
"No. They're wrong. They're wrong, okay? You're not gonna die."
"Please, fight this. You have to fight it. You have to live."
"Don't die... Don't die on me. Please..."
"Listen to my voice, okay? I need you to stay with me. I'm bringing you to the hospital."
"I wish I could tell you everything was going to be fine..."
"Come on, now. You've lived through worse than this. Just... Just live through this too."
"I'm so sorry I let this happen to you."
Three things she likes? His ability to stay with what he believes in, his calm attitude, and his kind disposition. Three things she dislikes? His stubbornness, his naivete, and the fact that he believes his fate is set in stone.
