theres a difference between fictionkins n irls/das, a bigggg difference. Yes, theyre similar in ways likeeee relation tew character identification but irl sources r in a much more obsessive way if it makes sense.

fictionkins r a type of otherkin in which someone identifies as somethin thats considered fictional, typically a fictional character or species. as plain as that. I'M even a fictionkin of some characters, but irl sources (more specifiically "delusional attatchments" or DA for short, although i dont really like usin dat term because it has a controversial background n can kinda be reality-checky) r bizarre delusions in which someone thinks they r a fictional character, often due tew psychosis. IRLs can have episodes such as surreal flashbacks tew memories they SWEAR happened (mood. /cwh) n hallucinations of body parts that aren't there. both fictionkins n irls r things people cannot control, but one is most likely, pretty much all tha time, caused by a psychosis experiencin disorder n is a delusion. Not ALL irl sources r harmful, n if they become harmful it is best tew try n recover from them, but that recovery process sometimes takes months if not YEARS. tellin a fictionkin they arent a fictional character is plain mean n shitty (yew shouldn't tell that tew people at all anyways even if they ARE a fictionkin) but tellin an irl they arent a fictional character without specific permission tew reality check them is in fact ableist if they experience a psychosis experiencin disorder, very harmful tew tha recovery process if they're on tha road tew recovering, AND will probably get yew a block n crash out if they r actively hardshifted. people with irl sources can get possesive of their source, sometimes blockin doubles out of fear, jealousy, or safety. For example, I don't BLOCK doubles (only sometimes if i feel tha posts will end up makin me spiral when i come across it hardshifted n unstable), but if i'm hardshifted i in fact dew NOT want tew hear about how much yew kin me, it will cause me tew spiral.
