I remember reading on a couple of sources that Nephthys was also on Ra's boat, now idk how accurate those are tbh 😭 but if they are is that apart of her character you plan on incorporating in some way?

Hello again~ I’m doing well and hope you are too! Thank you for your kind message, it’s good to chat again!

As for the myths about those on Ra’s boat, I noticed that several gods have been referenced to “help protect the solar barque,” including Nephthys! So they’re accurate, but there’s a lot of gods that fall in a similar role on Ra’s barque, and I’m not sure how to organize it yet. Set is (was--) the main guard for the barque, but surely other gods step in to help when he’s away or in exile -- I just need to pin down a system for who does what, directly and indirectly.

For Nephthys in particular, I think I’ve been leaning more into her domains for nighttime and service. My current headcanons have had her working a “night shift” and completing several duties + occasionally attending the council sessions. So if she’s active and involved with those nightly tasks at the same time the barque is sailing back thru Duat (at night), that’s where there’d be an overlapping conflict where I haven’t pictured her on the barque during its voyage.

I do like the idea of her greeting the barque at the end of the journey though, since it will occasinally carry souls (Bau, specifically) that need to be guided to the Hall of Truths. Maybe she could help refresh the barque with protective wards too, that’s a thought... 🤔

(also yes this way she would also be able meet up with her husband back from warding and slaying demons, back when that was his role aha--)

SEPT ‘21 DEITIES Asks – OPEN (Yes, Open! Finally!!)

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN – Finally, right? Read the recent project update for full context on what’s up and why the vault– askbox is open again, for a short time!

I’m planning to keep the askbox open up from September 10-17, and get to what I can this week and so on after it’s closed. If you have any burning questions to ask about the project, or you want to say hi / leave a message, this is the time to do it! I can’t anticipate the next time I’ll do this until the project site is fully launched, and that timeframe is pending.

The guidelines are overdue for a revamp that I’ll share on the website, so aside from reading the current FAQs and the site introduction, we’ll keep it brief: Feel free to ask me anything or share a message regarding DEITIES Project, but please keep in mind:

Avoid spamming the askbox with 29358975 questions/messages – or I’ll focus on others’ to keep it fair. Try sending me one or two at most, and then you can submit follow ups once I get to yours!

I have Anonymous off for the sake of accountability, but if you want request that I manually hide your username/icon on the published post, let me know in your message!

I’m not planning to answer anything in-character this round, nor draw any new requests – maybe another time, but that’s not the purpose of the askbox session this time! If you ask something towards the cast, I’ll likely answer OOC on their behalf; and if you send a request, I’ll save it as a prompt to consider later.

With that said, the DEITIES Askbox is re-opened for a short while – from  September 10-17. Feel free to submit your messages and I’ll get to any of them gradually over the next few days /o/!

Upcoming Update, with a teaser and heads up...!

Hi everyone, it’s been quite a while! Thanks for your continued patience, I have a bit of a fun update to share later this week. This is just a preview / WIP for a post I plan to share in a couple more days, but the TL;DR is:

(1) General update for what’s in the works for DEITIES Project, including a first peek + soft launch access to a new project site (and don’t worry, I’ll still update on tumblr, but this will tie in to my shift in scope from a while back).

(2) Reopening the Tumblr ask box for a short while to answer any project questions – starting Friday, September 10 for a few days, potentially up to a week after.

More will be shared in a few more days once I finish this art and draft, but I figured I’d give you all an ample heads up if you want to brainstorm questions – and if not, the full update may inspire a few more that I can address \o/ I hope to share more and chat with you all real soon!
