ao3 scifi fic search help: I'm looking for a fic from a few years ago, pretty sure it's part of a series. Dean is an astronaut engineer(?) in space (alone?) and Cas is a star/AI/disembodied alien(?).

it was really well written and the first fic only had Cas disembodied but i think the next fic he got a form/vessel and more exterior plot.

edit: i think Cas possesses Dean at some point ✨

Hello, I know this is very unexpected but can I ask why did you stop making destiel au with harvey dent and dean from The Winchesters? Tumblr reminded me of them recently and I saw an ask where you planned to do flashbacks with them,so I got curious.

first off: hello! it's been a while for me over here! i'm so glad some of my edits (for which i am not known bc i never did much gif editing) continue to bring people joy even years later! 💖

I didn't realise I'd made so many Harvey gifsets tbh 😅😅

but you're talking about my Destiel edit series [part 1, part 2] with Bruce Wayne inspired Dean (using The Winchesters visuals) and Harvey Dent inspired Cas (using Gotham Knights visuals).

Part 3 was indeed a flashback: them in bed, using Harvey Dent Misha visuals and Soldier Boy Jensen visuals. I don't know if I ever started it - just trying to check what i have saved in the drafts of my video editor is taxing my old mac 😬 (update: i managed to open it but there's no files. i think i was editing on an old tablet instead, which i no longer have bc it died on me and i never picked it up from the repairer. but tbh even if i had access to the draft i'm no longer interested in completing that gif seriess so i would probably delete it).

I dropped out of the Destiel/SPN fandom a few years ago because I was finally done with them teasing better content than we got - in all their various projects (not their fault; tv writing has become trash since around covid era for reference, imho; profit over art and no care for what good storytelling actually is and what fans expect) and found my way over to another all-consuming ship/fandom (but that show has also since turned out to be significantly more disappointing - for all characters - than spn, it turns out).

so atm i'm just writing a lot of AUs and staying off the dash because i'm sick of tv writers screwing up plot and character storylines at every turn. you know how people say, "if i won the lottery i wouldn't tell anyone but there would be signs"? my sign would be hiring a bunch of tumblr/ao3 authors to write a movie/tv series that gives the actors roles to sink their teeth into while giving the people what they want.

anyway. i hope you're enjoying fandom and official content more than i'm able to these days. 🙃

when cas daydreams about what it would be like to be with dean it's all about how HE'D treat dean so right and HE'D give dean all the love he deserves etc etc, not really considering that he himself would receive affection as well (even in his wildest dreams, haha, upsetting). so when they eventually get together and dean "clingy mcgee" winchester finally gets to, like, pressure wash cas with love and affection and make him coffee and hold his hand constantly and give him a thousand smoochies a day cas is like. what
