Pairing: Alexander Hamilton x Reader
Background: You and Alexander are roommates who don’t not get along that well. It’s that tough love where you tease each other, like you make fun of his height. He makes fun of your personality- you get it.
You swung your legs over your bed and ran your hands through your hair. You couldn’t sleep. Too many thoughts ran wild through your mind making you feel cold and empty. You looked over to your night stand and grabbed the water bottle that sat on top, taking a sip.
After placing the water back to its original spot you got up from your bed and began walking out your room, down the hall. The wooden floor boards softly creaked underneath your bare feet giving away your every move as you walked towards Alexander’s room.
You stood in front of his room door with hesitation, it was cracked open a bit letting you see inside through the small sliver. Alex was fast asleep, and you didn’t want to wake him because of two things. One you didn’t want him to laugh at you and second he was sleeping peacefully.
You didn’t let yourself think much into it, honestly you could care less of the embarrassment. You closed your eyes and let out a small surrendering sigh before pushing open the door.
“Alex,” you softly whisper sitting on the end of his bed. He didn’t answer which made your roll your eyes before trying again but this time softly nudging him.
He yawned and moved but didn’t open his eyes. You thought he was still asleep until he responded. “Yes?” His voice was soft yet deep and raspy. You couldn’t to deny that you were attracted to this sound.
“I can’t sleep,” you whisper.
“Well have you tried closing your eyes?” he chuckled. Again the raspy voice made you feel butterflies in your tummy. You could help but to softly smile and roll your eyes.
“I’m serious, you asshole!” you whisper-yell swatting his bare arm, he was wearing a black tank top.
“Ow!” he croaked, opening his eyes a bit. “What do you want me to do about it?”
You were hesitant but you knew you couldn’t go back to your room now. You’ve come too far to back out. “Can I sleep here? With you?” you said quickly closing your eyes but then peeking out one to see his reaction.
His eyes widened, he seemed wide awake now though he could probably fall back asleep if you’d let him. “You finally have a thing for me huh?” he grinned.
Somehow all his actions seemed more attractive when he was sleepy. “No idiot. I just can’t sleep. I keep thinking about life and stuff- I don't know Alex. I just don't want to ...sleep ..alone tonight,” you confessed.
“Oh, well there’s room on the floor,” he joked.
“Alexander,” you whine rolling your eyes. “If I wanted the floor I would’ve stayed in my room. If you want me to say it I will. I want to sleep with you. But not sleep with you- fuck it, move over. I’m getting in.”
“Feisty, I like it.” he chuckled sliding over.
It fell silent and all that was heard was the sounds of you and Alex getting situated. It was an awkward silence a first when Alexander realized that you were serious. “I.. I’m sorry if I disturbed your slumber,” you whispered looking forward, your back facing him.
“You did, it’s fine though. Do you uh.. do you want me to um...hold you?” Your heart dropped and the room went silent again. The little tension built up and your mind wandered. Alex spoke up, taking you out of your thoughts, “I’m sorry. That was weird, never-“
“Please,” you said softly cutting him off.
You hear him nervously exhale before slowly wrapping his arms around you. Both of your actions were hesitant. You inched back towards him before feeling his warm toned chest against your back. He tightened his grasp around you, not to hurt you, but to instead have a secure and comfortable hold on you.
You both would hate you admit it but it felt right. Laying together in the same bed, felt right. “Are you.. comfortable?”
“Uh yeah, thanks. And again thanks for..this. It feels nice. It’s actually much better than I expected,” you giggle.
“Anytime, and I know I joke a-lot but if you need to talk I’m here.”
“Thank you Alex, goodnight.”
Alex’s mind raced as you talked. To his surprise he really liked holding you. He tried to relax so you couldn’t feel his heart race but it was hard. “Goodnight princess- shit... erm.. I mean-“
“Shhh,” you smiled to yourself at Alex’s embarrassment. “Don’t ruin the moment, just sleep.”
