Hello! My name is Maeve, and I've been a comic fan since February 2025. I've been reading through the X-Men continuity using a wonderful website. You can follow my journey (starting with 1996's "The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix") if you want! (any post with the tag 'conquering continuity' will be a review!

I'll probably be posting thoughts on current runs as well! I'll update what runs I'm following whenever I remember.

has anyone looked at the new midnight titles for marvel? i'm pulling the xmen one bc i'm literally the target audience for anything, and the fantastic four has a good chance for body horror, but i thought they were going to be using characters that were more...idk. thematically inclined to a line entitled midnight?

werewolf by night, man-thing, or blade perhaps?

for new releases, i have an lcs (local comics shop) that i go to every week and have a pull list established, so i'm not scrambling to remember all of my titles

for most of my back issues, in particular my x-men continuity, i've been very fortunate to have a boyfriend that pays for a yearly marvel unlimited subscription for me

in my opinion, marvel unlimited is well worth the payment, but i know there are a handful of sites that you can read on (i don't know their names specifically) if you're willing to sift through the less than savory ad material

most of my trades and collections i buy online or at my lcs! third eye and oxford comics have been my most visited online shops :)

Longshot (1986)

I decided to go back and read Ann Nocenti's incredible miniseries, and I was charmed even more by Longshot's character. She did an incredible job of keeping the ambiguity around his backstory without leaving the reader completely adrift. I was so thrown off by his appearance in the main line, and I wish that I had taken the time to read this beforehand. Highly recommend!
