A Pride of Dragons - Bisexual

This design is very important to me, as I myself currently identify as bisexual! They take on a bit of a darker motif than the others so far, which I think works in their favour.

Unfortunately, this design in particular is part of the reason this series took so long - I was too scared to attempt the crystals I had never done anything like that before and I still think there's lots of room for improvement (after all they are completely solid, which I don't prefer but rather than poking at this for like a year or something I just kind of got over it)

HOWEVER - they are one of my favourites <3 I personally run into some eye-straining with the pink directly on the blue so I took the opportunity to use some darkened versions instead, and I'm very happy with the result. My partner and I are both bi so I collaborated with him to agree on the concept <3 it was really fun to do this one even if it took FOREVER

genuinely i don’t think it’s possible to easily explain the explicit part of online friendships to people who don’t Understand. i don’t mean like, explicit in the sense of “oh you’re sexting” or whatever. no. i mean when you and your friend start gleefully making up explicit sexual scenarios for your shared blorbos and you get giddier and giddier as you add more detail and you’ll be grinning at your screen as you type away at mach speeds. and it’s entirely nonsexual in an interpersonal sense, you’re not really getting Into it, but ohhhhh it’s soooooo fun and satisfying. and you can NEVER tell someone who doesn’t also do this that your mood is actively improved like fivefold because you and your friend played Sexual Tuoys together because they’ll go “what the FUCK.”

So naturally, after the lesbian dragon, the next one was the MLM/gay flag. You can see the pattern here.

Trivia:

I went back and fourth for hours on whether or not to keep the eyelashes as part of the design - I eventually came to the conclusion that it doesn't matter

I didn't make these in order, in fact most of the poses were originally drawn as just the character, Ada, which I've now recoloured to suite pride-flag designs

The next design I'll be posting, bisexual, was the most time-consuming and you'll see why

A Pride of Dragons series - Lesbian

Happy Half-Pride Month! I'm a little late to posting, but I have another pride series: dragons inspired by the different Pride flags! Starting with the first letter: the Lesbian Flag!

Trivia

The idea is that this dragon I've created, named Aya, can shift her colours around at will, I made her like a month ago and I would die for her

I really wanted to make a design that was more or less subtle; it could easily be explained away as a cute dragon imo but perhaps subtlety is in the eye of the beholder haha

I have more designs ready to go, I think I'll be posting about them here daily but putting them up on RB as soon as I finish them

I honestly don't want to make anything else ever

Next up: gay flag, bisexual, transgender - in that order and then more after that of course, I'll at least match what I've done for the crows but if you want more let me know!

i have ideas for demi-genders too so i think i might include them too

i might post speedpaints of this series on tiktok, esp since its more interesting between designs than the crows

There are only 2 rules when it comes to writing fanfics:

Have fun doing it.

That’s literally it. There is no “show and don’t tell”. There is no “make it realistic”. There is no “fit in with the trends”. And of course, there is no “write as fast as possible to keep up engagement and please others”.

Most fanfiction writers are not professional writers. This isn’t a job, we’re literally writing for shits and giggles. We don’t have a team of editors behind us to make our story perfect. Fanfiction isn’t about creating the most perfect plot with the most perfect prose and the most perfect pacing.

Fanfiction writing is for you first. To make your heart happy. Other people just get the benefit to also enjoy it if they wish.

That’s it.

Write whatever makes you happy, with whatever writing style you want, whenever you want.

it’s a key difference in perception. fic isn’t given. it’s shared. it’s part of a fandom community— in which readers are also an integral part.

it’s probably inevitable mission creep from the increasingly transactional nature of the internet and fandom-as-consumerism, which was always gonna happen after corps worked out how much bank there is to make from those weirdo fan people

but like. fandom is sharing. i think we’ve lost that somewhere.
