QUICK, SHARP, and to the point. He didn’t seem to be telling Nagisa ANYMORE then he asked for. If he asked her LOCATION, would he get anything?

“And her LOCATION? Is she close to Towa City? I need to SPEAK to her.”

“SO YOU’RE AVOIDING your responsibilities and the POSSIBLE CHANCE that someone would come to you for aid,” Nagisa started to rub Emi’s fur with his thumb in CIRCLES, and she released a soft purr in response to the ATTENTION she was getting.

Nagisa blinked, his expression still calm and impassive even after the small little JAB. A little crease appeared between his brow when the other mentioned his age. 

“I’m a SESL... sir,” he said, cocking his head. “I wouldn’t be ARRESTED on the spot. As for right now, we’re VISITING. Monthly tours of the Academy to drill into our HEADS that we want to go here. Emi REQUIRES to be with me- or I suppose, someone at ALL times. As you can see. I do hope you’re not allergic. She didn’t scratch you either did she?”

HE’S JUST COMBING his fingers through Kai’s fur for COMFORT, gaze a carefully-controlled BLANK SLATE. His father must have spoken to him again.

NAGISA’S EYES FLICK down to the notebook in curiosity and instinct as the human eye is DRAWN to movement. Not many people have that habit, he muses but the other does it with quick, sharp movements. 

He tilts his head a little at the QUESTION, albeit a little surprised. Much attention was focused on the TEENAGERS as they were the next GENERATION- so to hear a question AIMED towards him.

“Ah... I SUPPOSE it was the fact that they understood human EMOTIONS although we didn’t need to exchange WORDS... that fascinated me. And the compelling fact that HUMANS sometimes think that they’re above animals, although we’re all on the same CHAIN of life and death... I wanted to fight for them, to learn and understand THEM.”

Nagisa dips his head towards to the notepad. “If I can ask myself- what led to you develop that? It’s not a HABIT many have, some would find carrying a notepad BOTHERSOME.”
