To be real, if Botan wasn't a show, I'd be so much more attached to Chainsmoker Catgirl rn I think. I'm loving Chainsmoker Catgirl. Tbh, the show didn't strike me as weird till it was pointed out to me that a lot of people don't see what real depression looks like and when faced with that get really uncomfortable. That and the show just seems centered around what to me is a normal queer friendgroup, but to others is a foreign concept. The controversy makes the show more interesting tbh

transmisogyny genuinely does start eroding your ability to understand extremely basic ideas about feminism, like "outfits are not consent" and "men materially benefit from patriarchy even if they are underprivileged in other areas". you need to actually listen to trans women who point out transmisogynist behavior or you will become jk rowling.
