I'm so upset

Less than 20 pages left in my sketchbook and the entire thing breaks. What does it take to find a good sketch book? This is the third one that had broken on me. I have to wait to get and design a new one so I have to carry the carcass around

I have seen the cake makeup on tik tok and safe to say I am obsessed with it. I love strawberries so it was going to happen anyway it was just a matter of time. This reminds me of Melanie's album k-12 a little bit... Maybe I was humming it while I was coloring

The amount of times I have listened to Half a Heart by Ellise is crazy, I was humming it all while I was doing this. I did link it but it got a content warning for it and I don't understand why but you should go listen to it is a real good song. This was fun to do and I might do more of them of these but I'm not sure yet.

I didn't realize how strong the tape that I used on my nevermore print. I got the print off with no tears on the front but it is kinda crinkled..... Can't say the same for the wall 😬

I think I got it fixed? So at least it won't be noticeable? I usually have stuff that goes in that corner so we are just going to pray at this point. But like what tears?!? I am never using that tape again

More nevermore frame redraws

The first and very possibly the last time I draw Duke's spectre. These brought back my love for coloring. I still have a small open section on the top left and I don't know who to put there.

Hello there Lunatic! Lovely to see you as always! I am doing very well thank you for asking. I hope you are doing well too!! On the subject of coloring I assume you mean digitally? But I don't know?

So for digitally:

My tablet I draw on has more of a blue screen so my colors look so different from the ones on my phone but I normally do a flat color base behind the line art going into it I can normally tell what colors I want to use but I should really start looking at the color wheel. For shading I know someone has this method posted but I take one color depending how I want the colors to look (like if I wanted it to look warm and soft I chose a pink). But I use that one color on a different layer and cover all the shadows with it then I turn on the setting linear burn and move the layer opacity to a point where you can see the shadow but it doesn't look crazy. If I add blush I put the layer behind the shadow layer and put pink where I want it and lower the opacity. For highlight on a separate layer I just take white in the spots that the light would hit it then lower the opacity to where I want it. The last thing I do is make a new layer over everything and use a color to adjust the previous ones if needed. Like for the vampire one I used an olive color to give a painting feel to it and for the Harpy one I wanted a misty feeling so I put a blue grey. But I do a layer of one color and lower the opacity.

For paper: I use a lot of layering with colored pencils but it is mainly the same thing. Use one color for shadowing and if it is too dark you can just lightly erase it. But with Nevermore I don't have the exact colors so I always have to layer purples and pinks lightly till I get the color I want. Recently I have been doing one layer of alcohol markers of the lightest colors as a bade then go over and do everything else in colored pencils. I absolutely love doing this method so far and highly recommend it!
