Dance In The Dark (ONGOING Chapters 12/? Posted **UPDATED):  With the continuing murder trial of Miles, Mulder, Scully, and Max are confronted by the VCU with a case that seems to be mimicking the pattern by their, now infamous, psychopath on trial.

Echoes and Whispers

Parallel (COMPLETE):  The aftermath of the three little words that Mulder says to Scully in his hospital bed after being rescued from the Queen Anne as it re-appeared in the Bermuda Triangle...and the strange connection that Scully starts to feel to a memory that Scully couldn't possibly have.

Only The Night (ONGOING):  Mulder and Scully begin their undercover assignment as an engaged couple with the assistance of Skinner at the University of Maryland to catch a serial rapist, putting their newly formed physical bond to the test in this sequel to “Parallel”.

Falling Away (COMPLETE):  Kersh’s assignment partially splits the team as Scully goes undercover under the watchful eye of Mulder as they both assist on an operation with SWAT and FBI personnel. (A gift for Greta)

Veritas se revēlet (COMPLETE):  (The title is roughly translated to let the truth be revealed in Latin) An impromptu wild goose chase leads Mulder and Scully to the drifts of a winter-locked Tonopah, Nevada—where a little more than the embodiment of Mulder’s imagination takes shape between the walls of the Mizpah Hotel in the dead of winter. She Walks at Night (COMPLETE):  Mulder’s knack for getting himself and Scully into sticky situations leads them to the heart of NOLA at the tail end of Hurricane season after barely surviving a Floridian storm—to investigate a rumor of a notable Voodoo Queen and missing girls trying to bring her back. Intrigues in the Dark (COMPLETE):   A string of suicides leads Mulder and Scully to a sleepy, coastal town in Oregon for the second time—on their return to The X File—as tensions run high and nothing is as it seems. (A gift for @admiralty-xfd)

By Light, Unseen (COMPLETE):   A series of re-opened cold case murders with one link…they’d been drained of every drop of blood and wore the same, haunting stare toward the sky with their lips aghast as if they were still screaming. (A gift for @serahsanguine)

Post-Series

A House is Not a Home (COMPLETE):  The mere thought of raising a newborn in a world full of horrors has every part of Scully’s emotional irrationality over firing on a chilly, winter evening. Mulder wants nothing more than to show her that not everything is gray and grim. (for @danceswithcybermen)

Remember the Reason (COMPLETE):  Post Series (Part 1 of the “Little Redhead Series”). Mulder and Scully already knew that life with a newborn would be difficult but the first Christmas with their two-month-old daughter throws every curveball…some worse than others, some more humorous. Confectioners Sugar & Snow Drifts (COMPLETE):  Post Series (Part 2 of the “Little Redhead Series”). Mulder spends the morning bonding with Eliana by having a Christmas baking session while Scully is out shopping for gifts. Messes, mayhem, and a healthy dose of laughter ensue. No moment is ever dull as the snow falls outside.

The Easter Bunny was a Fox (COMPLETE):  Post Series (Part 3 of the “Little Redhead” Series). Scully has to pick up Bill, Tara, and a couple of surprise family from the airport, leaving Mulder alone with their 6-year-old daughter, Eliana, on Easter Morning. All she has for him are curiosities as Easter’s non-Christian ideology unfolds before her eyes…creating the most unique bonding opportunity for a father and his daughter. (For Flicked_Switch)

Angst/UST/RST

Caught in the Rain (COMPLETE):  A dark, rainy night leads Mulder and Scully to a hole in the wall bar where glasses of Scotch and unresolved tension is re-visited.

Or We Can Burn (COMPLETE):  Post Never Again - expansion and continuation of the aftermath surrounding what Scully has been hiding from Mulder.

It Lingers (COMPLETE):  The aftermath of trauma and the lingering effects of Mulder’s risky attempt to recover the truth about Samantha’s abduction leads to a revelation from Scully about her own coping mechanisms and flashes into a past she doesn’t fully remember...and the path to which they lead thereafter. Fluff/Humor

Nervous Laughter (COMPLETE):  It’s been two full days since their tender, albeit brief, moment at the stroke of midnight and Mulder decides to be brave and methodical by inviting Scully over for a little movie and popcorn night for a film that has stayed locked in his mind as her favorite—The Exorcist. (This is a gift for @rationalcashew)

Lamplight & Shooting Stars (COMPLETE):  It’s Spring-time in DC and spontaneous, mutually taken vacation time has become a personal mission of Mulder’s to surprise Scully with so much more than an escape from their norm—and the unseasonable, uncomfortable city heat. (For @underworldobsessed)

Into the Nightlife (ONGOING):  A little paid vacation time never hurt anyone, right? (Not giving anything away this time)

Smut

Insomniac (COMPLETE):  Another lonely, sleepless night, another dingy motel, and another town that isn’t home for Mulder…but, something changed, with the last gasp of the air conditioner as his partner, and best friend, chooses to walk through the adjoining door. (Expanded writing exercise)

Vultus in Speculo (COMPLETE):  The last of the paperwork on the Strickland case has been finalized and filed and Scully goes off for a drink at a known FBI watering hole. Mulder is invited but doesn’t show up until after Scully is halfway through a drink—giving him an opening to inquire about a whole lot more than her flirtations with the Sheriff in the booth of a rooftop bar. Phosphorescence (COMPLETE):  Still reeling from their experience in North Carolina, Mulder and Scully take a much-needed excursion to the coast of Oregon, where a flicker of light becomes more than a curiosity in the middle of the night. (Written for @anniexami)

Unlock the Door (TENTATIVELY COMPLETE 2/2):   Olivia returns home from a celebratory series of shots with Kim Greylek and lets Elliot Stabler hear a little more than she ever intended to in the aftermath.

Polaroids and Promises (COMPLETE):   The Special Victims Unit has undergone an enormous amount of changes in the past six months, to the point that they are drastically undermanned—until a transfer from the 13th precinct brings new life, and a little chaos, to the team. I am definitely working on my ongoing WIPs and on ones that haven't begun to be posted. I haven't left or given up. Just been exceedingly tired as of late.

OMG Criminal Minds please tell me you ship Hotchniss ? I’m looking forward to reading more of your WIP’s for SVU/OC and TXF. Can you give a synopsis of the novel you are working on? That’s so awesome that you are writing one. I’m just sad because I don’t get to read fic like I used to and review my job /workdays hours are brutal.

Oh my gosh, I've only written Spencer and Max with a side of Garcia and Alvez. I love those ships right now. I have a few ideas for Hotchniss, though. My novel is a twist on the things I love from XF, SVU, and CM. My MCs are agents...she is a bit of an empath and he's willing to ask questions. I have the intention of converting XII to its sequel (with some overhauling). I have a LOT of work ahead of me. I get you on the work life. I was diagnosed with lupus about a year ago after battling for a diagnosis for about ten years. I work full time and I've been sickly. Kept me down for a while. Your inquiries have made me ENDLESSLY happy.

What inspired you to start writing? I think you are an amazing writer and the SVU and TXF are very blessed to have your talents. Are there any plans for future stories besides what you’ve written?

Anon! This made my year, first and foremost. I have a lot in the arsenal right now. Working on multiple XF and SVU fics (mainly the current WIPs) as well as plotting a novel that has been experiencing a bit of an overhaul. I do have some ideas for Criminal Minds fics planned for the future as well as continuing the expanding crossover verse from SVU and OC. There's so much I want to dive into! 💜💜

This is an abstract one, so ignore it if nothing comes to you, but I'm curious if there's any fics you can recommend that have the vibe of the dancing sequence at the end of Post Modern Prometheus.

Like carefree, happy, totally in love but repressing it (or not), suave, smiley, that kind of thing. Not actually a tag to the episode itself.

The days following the loss of their son and the death of the Cigarette Smoking Bastard turned into weeks and then months. Amazingly enough, Reyes had made a quicker turnaround in terms of recovery than Skinner, despite a bullet meant to kill. In Scully’s vision, Monica had said they were both protected, part of the chosen elite. Had it had anything to do with her miraculous recovery? Anyhow, both would make a full recovery, however, Skinner had to learn to walk again due to the extent of broken bones and hardware placed into his body.

They were having a baby. Despite having four months to get used to this fact, both Scully and Mulder woke up each morning, expecting everything to be a dream. Today Mulder awoke to the sound of muffled sobbing and sniffling coming from down the hall. He turned to the space in the bed beside him, long departed as the sheets were cool to the touch.

He was immediately on his feet, his need to tend to Scully instinctive. He quickly padded down the hall in nothing but a pair of boxes as he made his way toward the sound.

He stopped in front of the nursery as he saw Scully sitting in the rocking chair, clutching a stuffed Fox in her arms amid the sea of earthy neutrals that would be their daughter's nursery.

Scully was unaware of the sudden intrusion until he called her name. "Scully?"

She startled slightly, quickly wiping the evidence from her face, a habit that never died even over many years of living together.

"What's wrong?" He said, moving into the room as Scully continued the feeble attempt at gathering herself.

He was immediately beside her as she set the small stuffed toy aside. The fact that Scully had already gotten dressed for the day was lost on him.

"I...I'm not sure I can do this."

Mulder shook his head. They'd had similar conversations over the past few months and he had to admit becoming a father again in his fifties was a lot to swallow.

He moved to place his hand on Scully's ever-expanding baby bump.

"I think it might be a little late for that discussion now," he said in a feeble attempt at that signature Mulder humor.

She wasn’t having any of it.

"We're going to be parents again in three months."

"Thank you, Captain Obvious," she scoffed with an eyeroll.

He knew it was hormones. They were all over the place as of late. He wasn’t as acquainted with the fluctuations. Mulder only had a limited amount of experience with them the first time around. It was one of the many regrets.

Not much he could do about it, of course.

"But, that's not what I mean," she continued, pushing herself off the chair, causing Mulder to stumble out of the way.

He watched as she placed a gentle hand on the sage green painted walls before moving toward the crib.

"What do you mean, Scully?" He asked, trying his best to keep the annoyance at bay.

Scully gazed at the small assortment of forest stuffed animals in the crib, a forlorn expression that he didn't much like settled across her face.

"I couldn't care for William. How do we know this baby will be any different? That she won't be like William? Running for her life someday?"

Mulder shook his head as he stood and walked toward her. "Dana…"

She shook her head, the tears beginning to flow freely again as she moved toward the object that brought her here, that always drew her here.

Mulder watched as she gingerly picked up the repaired snowglobe off the shelf near a 3D framed image of their daughter's face.

"It will be different this time," Mulder continued, reaching for the small of her back.

"How do you know, you weren't there!" She spat the words out faster than she could pull them back.

Mulder felt as if he'd been punched in the gut. They rarely talked about William until these past few months, when he came back into their lives.

"Well, it's not exactly like I had a choice," he shot back before he could even consider the implications those words would have.

She whirled around, as much as any pregnant woman could do anyways as her center of gravity had shifted. Clutching the snowglobe in between shaking hands, she shook her head.

"I gotta go," her voice broke.

Before Mulder could respond, she pushed past him, making her way down the stairs as he trailed after her.

"Scully!"

As she crossed the living room and to the door, Mulder had the weirdest sense of déjà vu. How many times had she walked out on him before?

He watched as the love of his life, carrying their child, retreated down the steps as she had done many times before and followed behind her as he always had, lack of clothes be damaged.

"Scully, I'm-"

"No. You're right, Mulder. I made the choice for you to go. I chose to give William...Jackson away," she sobbed. "I don't deserve this child. To be her mother."

Mulder opened his mouth in response but before he could respond, she was retreating down the driveway, leaving him with a broken heart as she had many times before.

He stood there, blissfully unaware of his lack of clothing, frozen in place for a good several minutes, trying to process what happened. He was certain they were passed any blame that they carried regarding William.

Mulder sat in the livingroom. Unsure of what to do. He started to reach for his phone to dial Scully's number, only to realize she had left her phone behind in her hasty getaway.

Hours had passed and with every second that ticked on by, Mulder started to worry if Scully would return or not.

"Let's get out of here. As far away from the darkness as we can get,"

That old mantra Scully had reiterated to him in the church. Their vow to each other during their elopement in the Bahamas.

"I always wondered how this was gonna end."

They vowed to move forward together, come what may. Away from the darkness and into their new lives. Even if the darkness had a way of finding them both, they would do it together. If he had learned anything over the past few years, it was that he would wait however long it took for Scully to come back. To give her the time and space she needed. And he would wait as long as it took.

The sound of his phone startled him from his desk and he looked around, realizing darkness had set in as he napped. The phone continued its offensive sound until he reached for it. The glowing letters on the screen read "OLOS Hospital". Scully's hospital. But she wasn't returning to work until after the baby was born.

He frowned as he answered the call. "Mulder."

"Fox Mulder? Doctor Scully's husband, right?" The unfamiliar voice on the other end questioned.

"Yes. Is something the matter? As far as I know, Doctor Scully is on maternity leave for another few months."

He noted the urgency in the woman's voice as she continued. "No, the reason I'm calling is because your wife has been admitted to the hospital."

Mulder was at his feet faster than the speed of light as he grabbed his keys. "What? What happened? Is she okay? Is the baby okay?"

"They're both stable, Mr. Mulder. But you should get here as soon as you can. That's all I can say over the phone, I'm afraid."

Once the line went dead, he felt himself hurdle the phone toward the door. If anything happened to either one of them, he wasn't sure he'd survive.

The drive to the hospital was longer than anything he'd ever experienced in his life.

"She started having contractions," the doctor had informed him after he all but demanded to her and the attending physician.

He knew very little when it came to pregnancy and childbirth, but he knew it was too soon for the baby to come.

They'd known the pregnancy was a high-risk one due to Scully's age, but everything had been progressing as it should, so they had no reason to worry. However, Scully had been advised not to return to work until the baby was born to prevent any possible complications.

As Mulder stood in Scully's hospital room, watching her as she dozed, he couldn't help but recall another time that was eerily similar to this one. Not realizing how afraid he was until he heard the words placental abruption. Scully's doctor had said that they managed to stop the contractions, but that they would need to monitor her for a while. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he found out he had caused undue stress to put her in this situation. He loved them both more than life itself.

Just like before, Scully was out due to the drugs she was on, but he couldn't help but settle a projective hand on her abdomen. He could have sworn he felt the baby move against him as Scully began to stir.

"Mulder," she gasped.

He was immediately urging her back into the bed. "Scully, not so fast. You need to rest."

Scully sighed, placing her hands around her abdomen as she moved them in gentle, circular motions.

"They told me they managed to stop the contractions," he started as Scully nodded.

“Stubborn already,” Scully held a breath. “She’s getting a double dose of it. Lucky, this time.”

"I'm sorry," his voice broke. "I'm so sorry, Scully. This happened because of me."

Scully reached for him as he settled beside her. "No, no, it's not. I'm the one to blame. I feel like I willed my fears into existence. God, Mulder, I was so afraid I'd lose her and that it would be my fault."

"Why didn't you call me? I would have done anything. Been there in a breath."

"I was afraid," she cried.

As much as he could, he pulled Scully into an embrace.

As much as he could, anyway. "I know. I am too. I can never imagine what happened before, but I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere."

"I know, I know you are. So much was taken from us. I know I've loved this baby since the moment I found out I was pregnant," her voice crackled as her hands found their way to cradle her belly. "She's stuck with us."

Mulder chuckled as he moved his hand beside Scully's, both of them relishing the movement coming from within.

"Please grow healthy and strong, little one. We can't wait to meet you."

It isn't often that I get a lil weepy but I am. It feels good to be included.

I've felt lost lately and this pulled me back in.

My fandom has recently become a very unpleasant environment. It's a very small fandom, the people involved are very active and invasive, and there's no effective way of avoiding or ignoring them. Honestly, I kind of just want to leave the fandom entirely at this point. The problem is that I still love the source material with all my heart and I'm finding it hard to let go, even knowing it's for the best. Any advice?

This might be a situation where you let go of the fandom, but not the canon. Loving something doesn't mean you have to love everything that goes with it.

If the fans on tumblr or on AO3 are horrible to you, leave them behind. Try finding fans on twitter or tiktok or facebook. Post your stories to FFN or Wattpad or AFF or Dreamwidth.

If you're feeling strong and brave enough, you can always make a post explaining how you feel. You might find others who feel the same way. I'd suggest turning off anons before you do, though.

You can still love the source material with your whole heart, even if you're not a part of the fandom that goes along with it. 💕

Nonnie, you might also want to look into turning off anonymous comments and turning on comment moderation on AO3 so that you have to approve any comment before it actually appears on your fic.

Also blocking the people who spread hate and negativity on tumblr etc. Fandom can be toxic as hell unfortunately, but to a certain extent, you can curate your own experience.

Of course, I don't know what Fandom you are talking about specifically and can't speak on the specifics there.

But when it comes down to it, don't let random people on the internet destroy something you love. Protect yourself and enjoy the thing. 💜

Mulder had ignored Scully in the drive back from the empty offices, steadfast in keeping his eyes forward as she stared out the window. The expectation of an argument had gone flying by like so many drops of rain in the wind and renewed the dull ache in her heart as he drove right past her exit, opting for his own. Despite the anger written on his face, he wanted her next to him. He squeezed her hand only once before going upstairs and it felt more like pity than love. She pushed the emotions a little further down and stood in the doorway, watching him as he paced. Watching him as the pieces of his psyche finally began to crumble before her like a castle in the sand as the surf finally came to wash it away.

What have I done?

Scully held her palm to her lips as she stared at the physical representation of her failure; the manila folder Mulder onto the table and let every piece of paper fly across the lacquer top. They scattered onto the floor like so many hopes and dreams. They were now nothing more than nightmares manifested as Mulder tossed the disk onto the center of the mess, the glints of light reflecting darts of light across the ceiling, and heaved a heavy sigh as he sank against the cushions. She didn’t need the reminder of her self-inflicted catastrophe but he was providing it for her in the form of a massive printout of empty promises. There was already an ache in her belly and a lump up in her throat, and she swallowed the last of her nerves as she held a breath in. She wanted to be numb and run, but every nerve seared and tingled, pushing her to stay.

The leather squeaked and his eyes found hers but words wouldn’t come, like a punishment. His fingers twitched and knuckles went white as he squeezed air; it sent a chill down her back as she imagined who he was picturing on the other end of his fists. Something was burning behind those flecks of jagged gold and green that Scully didn’t want to decipher. Her tongue clicked the roof of her mouth as her eyes zoned out on the low, erratic bubbling of the fish tank. It was worse than any lecture and the wretchedness had already been doing the trick to her pneuma as she stared at the carnage of paperwork in front of him.

“Just say something,” Scully bit down hard enough on the corner of her lip that the taste went tinny and the first tear betrayed any hope of calm, coaxing a breathy sigh from Mulder.

Request not met. He’d set up camp in another non-committal night of no communication and anxiety; enough to make her blood pressure spike and make her cheeks go hot. Stalemate. Scully’s white flag went up as she felt the door staring at her back, willing her to just walk away and surrender. She teetered in her heels and grasped the molding as she heard the snap and skitter of his belt before her eyes could register the motion. Her gasp rivaled any sound Scully had ever made but it didn’t persuade more than a tilt of the head from Mulder. He leaned back as the sweat gathered along his brow. She recognized the distinct ember of change brewing beneath his lashes as he stared up at her.

“I don’t want to talk. I don’t want to think,” Mulder tossed the belt onto the finished surface with a resounding thud and pushed his fingers into the cushions, desperation in his eyes. “Not tonight.”

“Then what do you want?” Scully held her breath and took a step closer, letting his eyes set fire to her soul as he tilted his head to look at her. “Do you want me to leave? Is that what you want?”

“I don’t know,” Mulder shook his head and stood, moving past her like a tornado with his fingers wound through his hair. “No.”

The disappointment in his voice was killing her as she backed up until the curve of her spine touched the wall, watching his jaw clench and his eyes narrow toward the floor. He paced for a long, agonizing moment. The silence was deafening, maddening, claustrophobic, and the pressure against Scully’s back only added to the suffocation as the oxygen refused to leave her lungs. Her exhale came out in a rasp and a whimper, tugging his focus until he was peering into her embodiment, bulldozing the remainder of the barrier she had built to keep the emotions in check. Composure evaporated as she let her tears fall; the unmentioned ardor sweeping down her cheeks as she bit down on the edge of her lip.

Scully ran her palm along her chin, capturing the stray droplets as the word came out despite every effort not to say it. “Please…”

Mulder diminished the distance, enfolding Scully’s frame in his arms, he pressed his fingers against the small of her back and dragged the fabric of her long-sleeved, high neck top up. Scully breathed toward the ceiling as Mulder freed her from the confines of her top, pulling it up and over her head before discarding it in the direction of the couch. Mulder knelt, guiding her out of her shoes and undoing the button and zipper on her slacks, exposing the pale curvature of her hips and legs along with a matched set of pale blue undergarments. He looked up at her from her waistline as he leaned in and set his teeth against her skin until she twitched under his grip. A moan pushed her lips apart.

“I can’t…” Mulder manhandled her, gripped her backside as he stood and thrust his pelvis against her as her arms wrapped around his neck. “I need…”

“I know,” Scully couldn’t have been more aware of Mulder’s magnetism as she hiked her knee around his hip and felt the sting of the mahogany trim as it struck her shoulder blades.

Scully didn’t want soft and slow and she knew neither did he, as his erection uncomfortably pressed against the remaining layers of clothing between them, inviting her warmth as her inner thighs quivered just enough to make his eyes roll back. Mulder thrust again and the punctuated cry was marked by the involuntary tightening of her fingers through his hair. The swirling of energy nearly toppled him over. Mulder let her feet touch the floor and looked down at her small, capable hands as they undid his jeans and pushed them down toward his knees before sweeping the soft material of his sweater up and away from his torso. He stopped to gaze at her and sighed into the drafty apartment at the delicate beauty that he had become so enamored with; exasperation, however, had become a prevalent frame of mind.

The pause was short lived as Mulder let his motions become frenetic and haphazard. He shed the last layers of cotton blends away from alabaster and blush before wrapping his arms around her waist. Scully held onto the wall as his thighs pushed against her, slowly sliding his cock past her slick folds until he had filled her completely. Mulder craved her proximity as he guided her legs a little higher, reveling in the electric heat as his unrelenting thrusts picked up speed. The intensity continued to build until it finally vibrated both framed pieces of artwork off the wall. On an ordinary day, the thudding of their frames hitting the floor might’ve been enough to stop every thrust that Mulder had made…but not tonight.

“Do you even understand…” Mulder’s voice came out in a growl, the sweat dripping down his temples as he locked gazes with hers and pinned her wrists above her head, bottom lip trembling with every syllable. “At all?”

“I had to try,” Scully’s fingernails were wreaking havoc on his shoulders, leaving blistering marks as she held onto him and felt the weight of his anger, his frustration, his unyielding passion as it bruised her backside with every grind of his pelvis into hers. “I couldn’t…not…try.”

“I don’t know what I would’ve done,” Mulder had tears down his face, betraying the gruffness he was desperate to convey as he moved a little slower, bucking his hips just enough to coax a throaty moan from her. “If anything bad…had happened.”

“I know…Goddammit, I know,” Scully’s fingers moved to his cheek, reclaiming his tenderness as he drove into her again, impulsively, and hopelessly sought possession of her affection, despite never losing it to start with. “I know.”

He didn’t want an apology or a semblance of redemption. He tipped the metaphorical glass and heard his name called to the rafters; he wanted to go back to the moment before the clandestine invaded under the veil of a continuously lit cigarette and a shroud of smoke.

If I could impart any wisdom at all from 10 years of working in TV and Film, it would be that literally none of your faves are who you think they are. You don’t know a single celebrity beyond the facade and the performance they put out into the world. Even those candid interviews are crafted and designed to maintain a certain image for the benefit of their career. And none of this is to say that your fave is secretly a complete arsehole, but this weird obsession that so many people have with acting like they personally know and therefore love certain celebrities is incredibly weird to me, not to mention dangerous. So many people, particularly young people, have these bizarrely obsessive online presences dedicated around their favourite celebrities, where they spend hours and hours just tweeting about that person and getting into harassment campaigns on their behalf, and it’s like… your fave literally has no idea who you are. Your fave once sent someone a shitty email because they tried to charge £900 of room service to a production credit card and the production said no. Your fave once tried to make someone else pick up their dog’s shit and nearly set a hotel room on fire. Your fave once trashed their luxury penthouse apartment that they stayed in for free with dirty nappies and rusty nails and refused to pay to have it cleaned. Your fave is just a finite sack of meat, blood and bone. You really, really don’t need to idolise them. You love a persona, not a person, and exalting that just isn’t worth so much of your time and energy.

Hope you’re having a good week! I’m wondering how did you get to be so good at writing? The description and emotion you give on the characters are great!

I am so not used to compliments! This made me tear up a bit. Practice makes perfect, though. I constantly read and reread what I write. I read books, I listen to music, I think of how I feel about what I’m writing. I dive into the scene...try incredibly hard to put the reader into the place. If I can picture it happening and feel something then I’ve done what I set out to do. I took writing classes in college and took away the necessity to set a stage and decorate the background before I even started a dialogue. It really stayed with me. 

Again, this is the sweetest thing I’ve heard. 21 years of writing certainly got somewhere. I just hope that I continue to grow. I’m an open book and if anyone ever wants me to read what they are working on...I would love to help. Growing is something we all can do.
