Top Style Tips for Spring 2015
Embrace the duster coat. Take advantage of it's a lightweight design - ideal for wearing over your current garb - but be sure to lose the chunky knit jumper beneath as it will create too much bulk for a coat that's all about a smart easiness. It’ll smarten up jeans and makes a change to a short-jacket-and-dress ensemble.
Think long and lean hemlines. This may sound simple but the way to gently get used to a breeze around your ankles, is to lose the tights whilst keeping a long length skirt or dress so that it's not too much of a shock. Soon, you'll be ready and raring to wear summer's flirty skirts once more.
Introduce the floral touch: as synonymous with spring as Easter are florals. They sum up the freshness and prettiness which we associate with it and long for when it comes to the season. A dress is surely the trophy piece but a skirt, top, or patchwork jean option will start to tune your mind into thinking: warm.
Embrace craft work. Another seasonal tradition, you know spring is on the horizon when the lace and crochet come out to play on skirts, dress hems and blouses. Touches here and there will give the right sense of spring dressing – try looking for decoration on a jacket, teamed with a simple black T-shirt or roll-neck beneath and sleek black trousers, either skinny, cropped or wide leg.
Bare those feet. Dip a toe into spring waters and find your footing once more with a sandal. These will make more sense in summer but now a standard version will work with cropped trousers to keep them the right side of the season. And if you’re not feeling that, there are sandal-boot hybrids out there too, or you can work a sock and a sandal.
