It’s probably a good thing that it happens right before Oscar’s eyes, because if it hadn’t he’d certainly have dismissed the wriggling pink worm underneath Lando’s cap as a prank and tossed it right out of a window. As it is, Lando’s, “Christ, is it hot in here or—?” followed by the complete and utter disappearance of his body is a bit of a shock. Lando’s clothes fall onto the floor in a rumpled pile like something out of a movie, his socks still tucked inside his shoes and everything. Oscar stares at it in deafening silence for a very long time, like maybe if he just doesn’t react, whatever he’s seeing will cease to be reality. Surely it can’t be reality? When a minute of waiting produces no results, Oscar finally steps closer, crouches down, and gingerly lifts Lando’s cap to check underneath—maybe Lando’s been miniaturised? Honey I shrunk the driver? All he finds is a worm.
