I cannot get enough of this show. It's so unhinged. Zhang Linghe's microexpressions are amazing, and the costumes and settings are gorgeous. It's a mystery to me how Qingyi developed his shady underworld connections since he lived in a different city as an ordinary person before his time in prison, but for the sake of style and plot I'm willing to run with it.

It is also a mystery to me how someone who lived in a different city as a mild-mannered surgeon and then spent three years being tortured in prison has shady underground connections in Shanghai, developed incredible marksmanship after having his hand's tendons destroyed, and can be in two places at once, so I'm just pretending this is all totally normal in this completely unhinged show.
