At his warning, Freya merely lifted a shapely brow. She knew exactly which look Finn was referring to, but played innocent. It wasn’t her fault that centuries later, it still caused him to bend to her will. Exhaling, Freya went back to her bowl of cereal and ate a spoonful; answering him after she’d swallowed.

“I’m going to visit Hope. It would be nice for you to come for once.”

“Yeah, I do not think that is a good idea, sister.“ And the brother simply shakes his head, a frown forming in his forehead. Resigning himself that he couldn’t exactly beat the look she was using on purpose. “Or do you not remember I tried to kill our darling niece at our mother’s command?” And it might had been years ago, a decade and more, but he figures nor Hayley or Klaus would want him around. Despite him being forgiven in death.

“How charming, you must be very popular then.“ And he barely raises his eyes again, as always, he hopes to see some resemblance between the wolf and Niklaus. But all he sees is the same smart attitude that often makes his roll his eyes. “Trust me, if It was for me, I would dagger myself to stop this conversation.”

And he offers a half-side smile, closing the book in his hand before sighing. “Unfortunately, I promised Freya I would try and be civil and live.”

although she knew that her aunt had hope’s best interests at heart, hope couldn’t help but to think that her aunt had been wrong to place her in his company. mostly, since her uncle had tried to kill her when she was an infant. yet, he was family and hope could not deny the fact that if push came to shove, hope would fight for him because he was a part of her beloved vow of always and forever. truth be told, a part of the youngest mikaelson was intrigued at the thought of spending time with the one uncle whom was like a stranger to her. ‘ aunt freya once told me that the two of you used to get into some mischief. ‘                          ‘ what happened to that guy? he sounds like a lot of fun. ‘

“That we did indeed. But that was a long time ago.“ And he shakes his head at Freya’s adventure telling, though he cannot hide the smile that comes with the memories, never mind how distant they were for him. “Well that guy was four. And as you can see, I’m not four.” Clearly. And the last time he went with Freya in modern times, both of them tried tequila together. And he is sure he cannot do that with his niece. “And seeing your father and risking the end of the world is not mischief, Hope.” His tone is teasing, though there is an underline sense that he means every word. He might not be Elijah. But he does try. 

“For the time being, I’m settling with being the boring uncle. You have Kol for fun.”

“Niklaus was always very close to our sister.“ In fact, Niklaus was often the one to protect their youngest sister from the harm of danger or men who tried to seek her hand. “I did suspect something back in Italy. But I never thought---” And he just shakes his head. For some reason, he isn’t as scandalized by the prospect as he should be. Hazel green look down at Freya before sighing. “Any other developments that I should be aware of?”
