Ateez as My Chemical Romance songs. (The emo to kpop pipeline is insane and here’s proof).

(Again, based on their lore characters. Not IRL. Just their mv lore).

Seonghwa: Helena. About beauty and its toxicity. His character in their lore just gives that. Beautiful, gothic, will and has killed someone. (Gives Ice on my teeth and In your fantasy vibes).

Wooyoung: Na na na na. (Isn’t this obvious?) wild, impulsive, will do an insane plan and most likely succeed. Wants to change the world even if it blows up. (Him in crazy form specifically).

San: Sing. Inspirational, devoted, defiant, influential. Fits him. He’s not the loudest but will sacrifice himself for the cause. The fake figurehead of the rebellion. (Reminds me of him in Guerrilla).

Mingi: House of wolves. Outcast, sharp, excluded, charming. This one is harder to explain but it just fits his fast talking rebellion. Planner, driver, sharp shooter. (Mostly fits his role in bouncy and Halazia).

Yunho: The black parade. Loyal, devoted, not afraid of death. Striving for a better future. Fits his position in the lore as HJ’s right hand man, his first mate. (Also he’d kill it in that uniform. Really influences the military aspect to the Ateez lore).

Yeosang: This is how I disappear. Savage, dark, loyal. It works with his roles undercover and in the dark information filled world of the lore. Also just fits his vibes. (Really reminds me of him in Deja vu and Halazia).

Jongho: Teenagers. Feral. Wild, unpredictable. His position in the crew as the youngest yet the strongest really fits this I think. Youngest yet never predictable. (Especially in Crazy form when he shoots up a room. )

Hongjoong: You know what they do to guys like us in prison. (“I won’t go down by myself but I’ll go down with my friends”). You cannot tell me that this song isn’t Hongjoong. It’s rebellious., crazy, defiant. The lyrics are about leading a fight and running form the law. (Also the laugh at the end of the track? Hongjoong needs to do a cover of this so bad!!!!) Total resistance leader vibes. Fits the whole lore so well.

Okay in no particular order.

Seonghwa: Dive in. Violent, obsessive, murderous, seductive. Very him considering he’s a cult leader and one of the more violent ones in their lore. He’s HJ’s enforcer.

Jongho: So far so fake. Love, disillusion. Talking about a jaded world that probably inspires his need to join the Ateez cause.

Mingi: stained glass eyes and colourful tears. Violent, tortured. About destroying the world with the person you love. I don’t know, just gives Mingi.

Wooyoung: I don’t care if you’re contagious. Obsessive, wild, self sacrificing. Ride or die vibes. Very him cause he’s such a personality.

San: Today I saw the whole world. Again obsessive but more like allowing someone to pull you into hell. Gives San vibes cause he’d bite the curb for the people he loves. (Always self sacrificing himself in their lore).

Yunho: Damn the man, save the empire. Dark, simp vibes, a bit kinky. Very him. Also he’s HJ’s right hand. He’s very devout to the cause.

Hongjoong: pass the Nivarna. Punk, about music letting you breathe. Feral in a way that gives him. Especially with his rebellion.

Yeosang: Tangled in the great escape. About hiding yourself. Fits his lore with that he’s often the undercover one. Loyalties tested.

Yunho: Miss Jackson. He’s a bit kinky, what can I say?

San: Hey Look ma! I made it. Small island boi now big kpop star. Still got a heart of gold. This song just makes me smile.

Mingi: Hurricane. Excitable bouncy, talking about being unique.

Jongho: Golden Days. Nostalgia and I can just picture him singing this. Would pay good money for him to sing this.

Seonghwa: the Ballard of Mona Lisa. Dark, seductive, beautiful. Just so him.

For no real reason. Here’s Stray kids as Panic at the Disco songs cause I grew up on them and still sorta love them.

Han: Camisado. Dramatic, theatre kid chaos, dark too. “Can’t take the kid from the fight”. Give him. Feral and I don’t know, just gives Han.

Hyunjin: LA Devotee. All about the glits, the art, the famous world. He fits that expensive aesthetic so well.

Seungmin: The end of all things. A love Ballard, dark, soft. Sad. Seems like something he’d enjoy.

Lee know: Mad as rabbits. I think the title says all. Crazy, charming, sweet.

Bangchan: New perspective. Emo. Classic. All about changing your life, which he did so well. (Also got a few sexual lines).

Changbin: Victorious. Cheerful, proud. Life of the party. Reminds me of Changbin’s loud personality.

Felix: High Hopes. Empowering. Hopefully. Mixes well with his sunshine personality.

IN: The overpass. Fast. Modern. Reminds me of fashionable youth, which is totally IN.

My favourite bands and what they feel like to me.

Bring me the horizon is the feeling of a hand running their fingers through your hair. Of eyes filled with anger and pain and confusion and saying “it’s okay. I feel it too. We’ll do it together”.

Bad omens are the sounds you hear in moments of emptiness. Of feelings you feel the echo of yet can’t quite name. They are what you feel around you, what seeps into you from the endless. They are what your soul recognises and hums along to.

Sleep token is the moments on the verge of sleep. When your mind replays the thoughts of the day, sluggish turned poetry, and everything you did and said and looked for meaning. It is the slipping into something unknown yet with the warmth of an old friend. It is something far older than name yet it is as familiar to you as your own.

Pierce the Veil are the moments of emotion you just can’t name. When the chemicals flood your brain and you cannot put a name, a reason to the feelings. All you can do is feel them. Let their power intoxicate you, condemn you, seduce you, anger you. There is no sense in them but you know that’s the beauty of it.

Black Veil Brides are a child’s dream. Of conquest and destruction. Of children who were fascinated by the dark and wished to find their own light in it. They are the sharp edges of glorified dreams and the familiar nostalgic echoes of dreams of blades in your hands as you face your enemies. They whisper in your ears of curses and tales of dark robed heroes.

My Chemical Romance is the scratches of pens in a diary, the shredding of paper, the snap of a photograph. They are grief filled memories that remind you of the beauty in sadness. They are the cackling voices of pain that you hear in your ribs as you continue to convince yourself that “you will be fine”. They are the angry bitter strength in the scabs of your cuts and the teeth marks on your lips.

What if after the death of Lang Didi, Shangjue didn’t take Yuanzhi in? Instead of growing up his brother he instead grows up a distant relative, separated and unknown. He becomes a person with different responsibilities and a far more complicated role in the family . But doesn’t mean that Yuanzhi doesn’t know Shangjue. That distance doesn’t do anything to bury the obsession he has with his older cousin. Even if he never expects it to be returned.

But after the Wufeng attack, Shangjue starts to get drawn towards the beautiful mystery that is his youngest cousin and Yuanzhi is faced with the startling reality of being known.
