Lowkey love the idea of playing marvel rivals, but hate actually having to play the game

I've been wanting to say something about the 'gooner material' conversation in marvel rivals for a while, but I genuinely thought I was kinda crazy for this take.

I'm not against calling out the game for having the women 80% naked and calling the design "skins", but I've notice this misogynistic viewpoint on the women characters as a whole recently.

Basically the idea of a women existing in this game must be for 'gooner material' and nothing else. Devolving the discussion of revealing clothing on women to just "women = gooning". Like fuck the fact that these women characters have literal fanbases just like the men characters I guess.

And I view this as a growing problem, especially whenever the devs talk about bringing more women into the game and men (some women too) use derogatory names to refer to said characters. I've seen Black Cat and White Fox be reduced to "snowbunny" and "ricebunny" like wth? That's so weird and gross.

There's a way to discuss the sexualization of women characters in marvel overall without trying to push the blame solely on the fact that they're women. It's now becoming a self report whenever people call out a 'gooner design' and it's just a near fully clothed woman that they just so happen to find attractive.

Anyways Ironfist sucks and I hope he gets buffed next season, that is all.
