I remember the loneliness. I remember wanting to be loved by someone. I remember crying myself to sleep thinking I’ll never be loved. I remember struggling with the idea that even though I was single… God loved me and was with me.. that He alone was enough. I remember pursuing people who were not meant for me. I remember getting to a point I’d do anything to be loved.. even to a point I lost all sense of who I was.. to the point I broke down.

I remember my boyfriend entering my life. I remember how broken I was. How I never thought I’d be good enough to actually be loved romantically by someone.. or loved at all in general. I remember opening up to him.. expecting him to leave me but instead I remember the love he showed me (and he still does) and how he didn’t judge me for my past mistakes. I remember him displaying God’s love so vividly to me.. making me fall not only in love with him.. but more and more in love with Christ as well.

What I am saying is this.. you don’t have to be perfect before you meet “the one.” Sometimes God will use people to help you grow more in Him.. and for me it happened to be my boyfriend. Don’t write off being in a relationship because you feel like you’re too messed up to be in one.. put your focus on God.. pursue Him first.. and be open to the idea that you may meet “the one” in your broken state.. someone that will love you for you and help you in pursuing your goals towards God.

Why is this whole side of Tumblr uncritically accepting studies that paint male attraction or interaction with women as aberrant using the reference point of lesbians? The more I learn the more it becomes clear to me that lesbian attraction to women and male attraction to women is in no way comparable.

This is partly based off of Rosaria Butterfield's memoir of her days as a lesbian when she states, "men have sex, women have talk". By my personal observation as well although I'm going to be called homophobic as shit for this; that cat's already out of the bag so I guess it doesn't matter. I don't think (most?) lesbians are actually attracted to women sexually i think they just have an extremely strong aesthetic or persona admiration which is painfully obvious to me when half the "this makes me feel lesbian" posts on this website are about how a cool dress or a nice fanart or anything that portrays a woman in an enviably powerful state, I think that psychologically lesbianism is a misidentified persona envy but that's just my opinion

I’m not sure what the story is on conservatives banning books. But if it is true then I obviously don’t support that. However, I know better than to trust the media’s word without questioning it.

The instance I heard about and actually found evidence of was them banning erotica/romance with explicit sex scenes from school libraries (which, in my opinion, is completely fair on the basis of age) and of one book in particular that depicted p*dophilia. 

So essentially, Fifty Shades of Grey got the axe from libraries designated for minors and the LGBT book about a kid getting groomed also got banned from elementary schools. Fifty Shades and the like isn’t banned in public libraries or at the collegiate level.

I did hear of one library banning a romance book club, though I didn’t look into it. Having worked with librarians (and knowing what goes on behind the scenes), that would be petty retaliation towards a situation they actually have no control over whatsoever. 

Librarians are trained--in theory–to be objective and to be educators on information literacy. That doesn’t mean they always know what either means or hold to that code.

I’ve stayed pretty out of politics lately and have been putting work in for my mental health. So, it’s possible I’ve missed something, and if I have, I’ll own up to that fact.

I’m not on board with banning books either, but I am on board with gatekeeping what’s available to children.
