Cats Text Post Memes Because I Have Nothing Better to Do! Part 5
I know I vanished for about four days, but I've returned with more memes! Branched out to some more productions here, tell me what you think, and which specific productions you guys might wanna see!
My attempt at writing a (hopefully) better plot for the 2019 Cats movie.
...I got bored, alright? Essentially, quick run-down of some of the larger changes I made: have Sillabub (would call her Jemima, but the racist connotations wouldn't allow it) be the main character instead of Victoria, the blandest main character they could've chosen, still gave Sillabub an original song as she kinda needs one as a main character (it's not the Beautiful Ghosts one, tho), and had to make some story changes for it all to make sense. Ready? Probably not, but none of you have a choice, so yay! (Seriously, though, do tell me what you think. I'm a writer, so I hope this is decent enough, but all I want to know is that I did better than Tom Hooper). Here it is:
The movie opens with Demeter, Sillabub’s mother, comforting her kitten as the sun goes down, for poor Sillabub is frightened of the dark. Sillabub has never left her mother’s den before, properly, due to her fear of getting lost due to how big London is, and she is a very shy and nervous young kitten. Demeter begins to tell her the story of the Rumpus Cat to soothe her, but Sillabub interrupts, and notices all the other Jellicles are getting up and beginning to move. She asks what they’re doing. Demeter explains that they’re getting ready for the Jellicle Ball; Sillabub, curious, asks what that is, and then what a Jellicle cat is. Hearing that, Munkustrap begins to tell her with help from all the other cats (“Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats"), and Sillabub is excited by the dancing. She quickly finds her best friend, an older kitten named Victoria, and when the two ask the name of Munkustrap, where they are told about how cats are named (“The Naming of Cats”). Excited by all the new information, Victoria dances a solo in the moonlight, until Mr. Mistoffelees and Munkustrap interrupt her, telling her that she must save all her dancing for the Jellicle Ball. Munkustrap explains that their leader, Old Deuteronomy, will choose which cat may go to the Heaviside Layer, and be reborn into a new life (“The Invitation to the Jellicle Ball”). Wanting to understand it all, as well as be a proper Jellicle, Sillabub requests that she be allowed to join in the fun, and Demeter decides she is ready; however, she warns her to be wary of a cat named Macavity, who is feared by all the Jellicles and often torments them, as he turned against Old Deuteronomy many years ago, despite being one of his closest friends. She also warns her of Grizabella, a cat who is disliked by the Jellicles for abandoning them years earlier. Sillabub, puzzled but obedient, agrees, and Munkustrap takes her and Victoria to meet a seemingly lazy cat named Jennyanydots, who helps the mice and cockroaches find work at night (“The Old Gumbie Cat”); Sillabub finds it all incredible, but is quickly distracted by the appearance of a cat named the Rum Tum Tugger, a flirtatious and carefree tom, who the other cats all seem to either find dull or are in love with; she develops a precocious crush on him, and he lightly flirts with all the cats, before dismissing her (“The Rum Tum Tugger”).
Annoyed by Tugger’s rejections, Sillabub skulks off to an alleyway while Victoria and the others remain with Jennyanydots and Tugger; there, she gets harassed by a ginger, frightening cat named Macavity. He seems mostly uninterested in her, until she mentions her mother is named Demeter, and attempts to viciously take her. Before he can, Grizabella appears and stops him by threatening him with her claws, and he vanishes off when he senses the rest of the Jellicles approaching. Curious and grateful, as well as surprised to see that Grizabella seems to just be a regular cat like her, Sillabub tries to approach her savior, but her mother’s best friend, Bombalurina, reappears and pulls her away; the other Jellicles soon show up, don’t listen to Sillabub when she tries to tell them Grizabella saved her, and instead show hostility toward her until Grizabella leaves (“Grizabella: The Glamour Cat”). Upon Sillabub mentioning Macavity, Demeter appears frightened, and Bombalurina, as well as Munkustrap and Cassandra, explain that Macavity was mates with Demeter, and they believe Macavity may be Sillabub’s father. Munkustrap also warns her not to associate herself with either Macavity or Grizabella, or she may end up like them. Before Sillabub can ask more, a grand, tidy cat named Bustopher Jones shows up, and he shows them all to his owner’s house, feeding them all delicacies from the kitchen (“Bustopher Jones”); however, a false alarm is yelled for Macavity, and in all the panic, Sillabub is left alone. She discovers that it wasn’t Macavity after all, and simply two mischievous calico twins named Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer. They invite Sillabub to join in their mischief of messing up the house that Bustopher lives in, and, wanting to see all sides of being a Jellicle, she readily agrees (“Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer”). However, when some of Macavity’s henchcats show up again to try and steal Sillabub, the twins panic and scamper off; Mr. Mistoffelees and Victoria save her, and they return to the junkyard, just in time to see their beloved leader, Old Deuteronomy, arrive (“Old Deuteronomy”). Eagerly wanting to prove herself, Sillabub joins in the dancing, during her first Jellicle Ball with Victoria, but it is interrupted by Grizabella reappearing; she tries to join in the dancing, and Sillabub goes to offer it, but the elderly queen is left alone, with a queen named Jellylorum making both kittens go with them (“The Jellicle Ball”).
Sillabub, though, secretly slips back, and watches from an alley as Grizabella tries to mimic the dancing, though she can’t due to her elderly age; Old Deuteronomy, feeling guilty, also watches on (“Memory: Prelude"). Though she feels pity for Grizabella, Sillabub is also frightened of not being a true Jellicle, and becoming an outcast like her, so does not approach or try to touch the elderly queen. Once she’s left, Sillabub privately sings her own ballad, reflecting on whether she may become like Grizabella in the future, whether the Jellicles are right about her, and her own possible beliefs for both her and Grizabella (“Will I Remember Mornings?”), unaware of Old Deuteronomy watching. Despondent, Sillabub returns to the Jellicles after another brief scare from Macavity, and Deuteronomy, inspired by both Grizabella and Sillabub's words, tries to explain the importance of acceptance and happiness, though the Jellicles don’t get it, and he has Sillabub explain it to them the best she can (“The Moments of Happiness”).
Continuing on with the Ball, an elderly cat named Gus is then brought up, and his story is explained by the other cats; admiring his past as an entertainer, Sillabub listens attentively with Victoria (“Gus: The Theatre Cat”). The pair and some other Jellicles then help him act out the time he played Rumpus Cat, as it’s Sillabub’s favourite bedtime story (“The Awefull Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles”). Once Gus is led away to rest, with Sillabub briefly stopping him to show her admiration for him as a Jellicle, an orange cat who lives on the railway named Skimbleshanks is then introduced, and she and Victoria help him make a train with the others (“Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat”). The moment they all collapse from exhaustion, however, another Macavity scare happens, and he appears with his henchcats; instead of kidnapping Old Deuteronomy, however, he takes Sillabub captive, claims her as his daughter, and tells Deuteronomy that he has a blood claim to the Jellicles through her existence, and threatens her into having Deuteronomy make him the Jellicle Choice. We find out that Macavity is actually Deuteronomy’s adoptive son who was taken in by the Jellicles, shown into the world, but felt mistrusted by the Jellicles due to not being blood-related; furiously, Macavity turned to discover dark abilities to gain respect, tried to kill Deuteronomy and take over, but was stopped and banished. Not wanting his adoptive granddaughter harmed, Deuteronomy trades her release for him, and Macavity lets her go, but scorns her a final time, before making off with Deuteronomy. Frightened, all the cats go after them or hide, while Demeter and Bombalurina sing a duet to warn the kittens, including Sillabub, of Macavity (“Macavity: The Mystery Cat”). When they think Deuteronomy has returned, this simply turns out to be a cruel illusion by Macavity, as a final salt in the wound. Feeling guilty, for her wandering off and meeting Macavity in the alleyway is how he got to Deuteronomy, Sillabub calls on Mr. Mistoffelees to try and save Deuteronomy. Tugger helps her express this to the Jellicles, who are distrustful to her now, and Mistoffelees is able to rescue Deuteronomy (“Mr. Mistoffelees”); however, Macavity shows up again, and this time tries to kidnap Demeter. Defensive of her mother, Sillabub attacks her father, and when he tries to appeal to her, she snaps that he is not her father, and she is a Jellicle, through and through. With Munkustrap and Alonzo joining in, Macavity flees, and the Jellicles celebrate. Upon seeing the moon beginning to go down, Munkustrap announces it is time for Deuteronomy to make the Jellicle Choice. Sillabub sees Grizabella watching from the side, longingly, and sings a small reprise of ‘Memory’, alerting the Jellicles to the fact the sun is rising, and quietly urging for Grizabell to come and rejoin (“Daylight”). Sensing it, Grizabella joins the cats, and Deuteronomy allows her to address them all. Grizabella sings about her old life, and how she was beautiful when she was young, but collapses midway through the song; Sillabub sings along briefly to encourage her, and Grizabella is able to finish her song (“Memory”). This time, when she tries to leave and reaches out for someone, Victoria, at Sillabub’s urging, is the first to touch and welcome her; Sillabub follows soon after, as do the other Jellicles. Deuteronomy announces Grizabella as the Jellicle Choice. Grateful, Grizabella softly thanks Sillabub, who assures her with Deuteronomy on her next life (“Will I Remember Mornings? Reprise”). Deuteronomy escorts her to the Heaviside Layer as all the cats watch in the rising sun (“The Journey to the Heaviside Layer”), and Demeter has a moment with Sillabub, assuring her that she is truly a Jellicle; Deuteronomy assures his granddaughter of this as well, and he explains to her, as well as the Jellicles, exactly what a cat is (“The Ad-Dressing of Cats”). Sillabub watches Grizabella vanish into the Heaviside Layer, smiling, with a sense of her own belonging. ... ...hope it's alright.
Cats Text Post Memes Because I Have Nothing Better to Do! Part 4
Apologies for not posting yesterday! To be forgiven, I've added five more than my usual ten in! I'll probably start adding more productions in than the 1998 film, as while I love it, I'm also running out of photos! If you want to see a specific production, just let me know. If anyone has any characters they want to see more of specifically, tell me, and I'll make more. Additionally, if you have any more texts, send them my way!

Random fact I heard from my dog therapist
So, basically, I go to dog therapy, and the woman who runs it has her whole family in the drama/movie business. She's actually the niece of Anita Dobson, a pretty well-known British actress, and her dad was in a few movies years ago (I think one of them was Flash Gordon, but I can't remember). During one session, I mentioned Cats to her, back when I first got into it, and she randomly told me how one of her daughters is actually in the filmed version as a dancer, and she has photos of her at home in her costume. She also told me that, apparently, during rehearsal for one of the takes of the Rum Tum Tugger, they were messing round with the ball (the one Tugger uses to throw to his boyfriend in the number), and they threw it to John Partridge, who got walloped in the face by it due to being caught off guard.
No idea if the story is true, but she seemed pretty genuine, and no reason to lie, so fun little fact!
Thought I'd make some Capitol posters for Sunrise on the Reaping; they're nothing spectacular, but wanted to test my editing skills, so here you go!
Completed this edit a while ago, and somehow forgot to upload it! My Tumblr also, for some reason, got stuck on this thing where it would say it was 'processing the video', and then just was like that forever. Finally, though, here's my first ever Quarjake edit! I'm not an editor, I just make videos if I find the right audios for the right fandoms, but hope I did alright!
Made an edit of my favourite, unfortunately often missed out on, dynamics in The Lion Guard (please ignore that I should be watching shows for my own age group). In case anyone is wondering, the song is 'Nothing', by Emilie Autumn.
Thought I'd offer up an edit for my in progress Sonic movie universe AU fic: A Wound for Generations. What if Shadow, having escaped the lab and hidden out in Green Hills, Montana, for thirty-nine years, came across little Sonic? Link is here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/67656376/chapters/174887236
If anyone wants to make fanart anything else for it, feel completely free! Just tell me, so I can see and love it..
This part always makes me laugh because Tugger is just like 'who tf is holding hands with my bf?' and Misto looks like a guilty child lmao
This feels like an actual conversation they would have oml
