well. we've finally received a notice to vacate.

we've been in a dire situation for months, ever since my wife lost her job this past autumn.

we've finally been served a notice to vacate.

$3,138 due by JUNE 14 2026 or else it's the streets for us.

with no income or proof of employment, we have nowhere else to go. i'm unable to work because of worsening ME/CFS and other debilitating health issues that i can't afford treatment for. jobs are refusing to hire my trans wife. if we lose our housing, it will kill us, as even this city is becoming more and more openly hostile to immigrants and trans women.

When Orwell was alive, he worked for both the British imperial army in his youth, and for the cia later in his life. To act like he is not hilariously biased when it comes to the subject of communism and socialism is just plain revisionism of his life and the society that surrounded him. He wasn't a progressive writer, and this must be taken into mind when analyzing his work.

it has been repeated a thousand times, but his works aren't some "anti-authoritarian" anything. he was a man who had a deep disdain for the working class and the idea of the working class doing revolution. he had no problem being the boot on other people's throat. he had no problem making lists of political dissidents to report to the police. he wrote some dogshit novels about what he thought the USSR was like (he never went there or really studied it) during the second world war. he also wrote "I should like to put it on record that I have never been able to dislike Hitler" in his 1940 review of Mein Kampf. the only reason he is so well regarded is because the CIA pushed his works onto TV and into schools as anticommunist propaganda. he was always a worm and his works are just bourgeois wank.

Hey all! My name is Phoenix and I'm a white, Jewish (Free Palestine) and Panamanian Latina trans woman and union steward and organizer. I'm married to @writeswrongs a Salvadoran U.S. naturalized citizen, a union organizer, anti-imperialist feminist and writer. We're asking for help today.

I was recently hired to be a canvasser and was encouraged to apply for a canvass director position but I won't start until the first week of May and I have been out of work since mid-March after I got fired at my unionized job for allegedly leaving notes with "migrants welcome" and Jewish and Muslim religious symbols outside the living space of an open white nationalist. The fact that this person is a white nationalist is not being denied by my employer, who is claiming I created a safety risk and violated their equity principles by doing this. I am in the middle of a union grievance process with that employer to return to that job and/or receive backpay.

Because I've been out of work, there's been additional financial stress on our household. We will soon be a two person income home again very soon but we will need your help with rent and grocery costs. My wife hasn't been able to afford meals at work where she serves as a health assistant for homeless and low income people. We have also recently were contacted to foster a new family member who was taken from the custody of my family. This has been a very exciting and new process for us and we will soon be on our feet to support ourselves and my new sibling.

Please, if you can share this post, a multiracial queer couple dedicated to serving their community through direct service, union + tenant organizing and socialist political struggle will be able to maintain their housing as we transition into a new and exciting phase of our lives.

Rent is due by May 4th, 2026. We pay our rent in two installments through flex so as long as we have enough to cover the $900 cost by May 4th, we will be fine. My wife's check otherwise won't be able to cover rent and all our other expenses, and we wouldn't be able to afford groceries.
