i do not think raising the minimum wage is an actual solution to the increasing cost of living. i think making existing wages go farther would be much more sustainable, and could be accomplished through state intervention in the housing market. but that is unpopular because it is an actual change to the structure of the economy and society, and not simply trying to fight fire (increasing cost of living) with fire (increasing wages to account for increasing cost of living)
