I'm feeling nostalgic this holiday season and I wanted to shout out some fics I love.

This list is by no means comprehensive, they're just the fics I find myself returning to over and over again. In the midst of the holiday season, I present them to you.

let your heart be light by @hardly-an-escape Soft and cozy like Christmas lights. The kind of fic I just submerge in like a bath. I sometimes read it when it's not Christmas, just for the vibes.

The Christmas Invasion (Hob Gadling dreams of Christmas) by Leandra A gift fic that is a gift for us all. So many iconic scenes and use of the amnesia trope as Hob teaches Dream the "true meaning of Christmas."

The Gilded Cup by behold_me & The_Kickit_Domain Such arresting imagery in this fic! I keep reading the final chapter over and over.

Use Your Words by @tj-dragonblade One of the first, and, in my opinion, one of the best, Dreamling mistletoe fics!

A Dream For Christmas by @softest-punk Based on that tumblr post about swiping left on someone sitting right next to you, this is so romantic and sweet!

Tradition by softestpunk I had to include this one also! Immortal Throuple and the 12 Days of Christmas, this gets me in the feels every time.

Hallmark-Adjacent by @moorishflower Truly the best use of the trope. The way Hob and Dream's canon backstories are weaved into this human AU, the way they're down bad for each other… a masterpiece.

You Are Safe Here (You Know, Now) by @dsudis My love for this verse knows no bounds. The anxiety of the holidays, all dispelled.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy by @xx-vergil-xx Taking the original premise and blowing it completely out of the water. I have never watched this movie and I fear that watching it now would compare poorly.

I kinda hated the statement from Fiddler's Green that 'Dream never apologizes' in the show, so here is a list of all the times that he did! Feel free to add more!

He apologizes to the Fates when asking more questions than is allowed.

He apologizes to Rose Walker for being obligated to kill her

He apologizes to Lyta when she has to say goodbye to her husband in the Dreaming

Not a literal apology but he remade Gault as a dream rather than letting her rot in the darkness for an eternity.

He apologizes to Nuala (well, he says 'Forgive me') for not remembering that she was at the Shakespeare play, even though, they were not introduced to each other.

He apologizes to Nada for her imprisonment in Hell (granted, he should have fixed this one a long time ago).

He apologizes to his sister for not being honest during their quest to find Destruction.

He apologizes to Hob for the people he has lost, even though this is not Dreams doing.
