Where did the artwork in your banner come from? It looks like the actual site art.
Heeeey...yeeeeah, so I was kinda neglecting this page for a long while, sorry about that ^_^;
Anyways, yes it is actually real art, I believe it started as concept stuff by Undel, and it was used as the Forum background for a while!

The Icestrolabe
So this isn’t my favorite apparel ever but I love how much it tells us. It’s Gala time, but its also lore time.
So, once the pun is pulled away along with some of the artistic liberties, I’m fairly certain this one of these:
The astrolabe, greek invention used for the purpose of celestial navigation at sea for centuries. The fact that ice flight has a specifically ice magic assisted version of this tells us a lot about them and their history. Specifically that ice flight and tundras are/were a seafaring culture.
This makes sense since:
Its an easy call to the vikings who were also associated with the cold and boats
The Southern Icefield is surrounded by water on all sides.
More specifically, water separates ice flight from the rest of the continent
Tundras are very weak flyers especially in the winter
The mountainous, icy land is likely difficult to cross which makes sailing up and down the coast much more efficient
It makes all the sense in the world for them to turn to the sea for getting around and either inventing an instrument to help keep on track or adopting such a star measuring device from their night sky obsessed neighbors to the west.
The astrolabe fell out of use in the 1700s after the invention of the sextant which puts it a fair bit behind the canon time period for technological advancement, but there always could;ve been a delay of invention in dragon cultures as they turned to magic to enhance existing equipment rather than inventing new, or this could be an example of ice flight clinging to old traditions as is their prerogative.
Is it still true that tumblr is blocking posts with links from showing in tags?
I’m running a raffle on FR for a sew on/iron on elemental rune patch- It’s in the raffles and giveaways as “IRL Rune Patch Raffle” or I’ll put the link in the notes.
I wanted to embroider a patch to go on my letterman jacket, so I decided to use the symbol of my flight! The lighting is a little funky, but the background is supposed to be navy blue, not black, haha.
So I’m as good as done I think????
I need to ttter up the scarf but I do this with my friend tomorrow to fix up the last beauty-marks I need to take care off.
Anyway, here is my cosplay of my Idiot Dragon Sheraga. Lots of suffering went into this thing. The photo is a mess out of my nephews room. I hope I can take some proper pictures trough the weekend!
Not the greatest pictures and the colors aren’t 100% accurate but I made an actual plush of my plushie dragon, Pillow. I’m really pleased with it to be honest^^
Made mostly of felt, with denim belly and the patches are painted with acrylic paint. The eyes have a pearly purple glue on them to give them depth since the purple felt I used was a bit too pale. The hat was the hardest bit, but I’m happy how it turned out^^
This is Pillow, for comparison in case anyone was curious:
So I had this Safari Ltd Aardvark, have had it for years, and while I liked it I wanted to do something with it to make it more interesting. I finally decided on making it into a Peacevine Aardvark^^
I used acrylic paints for the body, changing the markings up slightly to mimic how markings differ in a species, and the leaves are from an old aquarium plant I had, painted to make them less insanely bright green lol. I cut a few to make them look like ivy, and then painted wire for the vines. The lilies are rolled and painted bits of paper with painted string for the stamens. Oh, and the base I made for him is a lot of hot glue that I put plastic over, pressed his feet onto it then removed the plastic and painted^^
Sorry for the crap photos, my camera is old and funky ^^;
Gladekeeper Build
Snake Friends!
So since FR released snakes I had to do what I’ve done for the toads, frogs and butterflies and find their Real Life counterparts^^
FR’s Ball Python and a Ball Python:
FR’s Corn Snake and a Corn Snake:
FR’s Rattlesnake and a Rattlesnake (Massasauga rattlesnake seems to match best, despite the tooltip hinting at it being a Diamondback):
FR’s Red-Tailed Boa and a Columbian Red Tail Boa (again, seemed to match best):
FR’s Green Tree Python and a Green Tree Python (with color morphs just for fun^^):
Journal painted by me, Shara #3628, on 3-18-17 that’s loosely based on Flight Risng's Owlcat Journal:
Wanted to share my irl living stones from NotN! They’re actually called lithops!
Sweetheart and Enamored Swan Familiars, Valentine's Day 2017 on FR.
The Sweetheart Swan has had pretty obvious artistic liberties taken on it to make it pink with a heart shaped mark on it’s chest, but the Mute Swan was clearly it’s inspiration.The Enamored Swan has a knob on it’s beak similar to Mute Swans but other then that and it’s slight blue tint it appears to be pure Black Swan inspired.
I never looked that close but I recently noticed something suspicious in Pinkertons crate…
When did he swipe a mortar bomb from Crim? Where did she get it from? Who’s making bombs in Sornieth?! O.o;
Reblogging from my main account, I thought this was interesting, in a wth kind of way and thought I’d share. Not what I was expecting to see in Sornieth to be honest.

Flight Rising’s frog companions and toad companion, on a Fae for the example.
Toad Companion based on the Common Toad, Bufo bufo
Desert Rain Frog Companion based on the Desert Rain Frog, Breviceps macrops
Horned Frog Companion based on the Surinam or Amazon horned frog, Ceratophrys cornuta
Poison Dart Frog Companion based on the Poison Dart Frog, Ranitomeya amazonica
Red-eyed Tree Frog Companion based on the Red Eyed Tree Frog, Agalychnis callidryas
The Marsh Frog Companion was a little tricky, it seems it may be based on two different species.
Marsh Frog, Pelophylax ridibundus
or Leopard Frog, one of 14 species within the true frog genus Lithobates
Worked on this Plague Dragon pumpkin all day! She is finished now and looking great!
Kind of old but reblogging for Riot of Rot and Halloween^^
