     Crimson stained hands clawed at their throat, painting their rosy cheeks with the blood of another. Except for the golden flowers that they had trod on so peacefully before, their surroundings were static, blurred, and hard to make out. What were they to say? How could they justify their failure?

       Help me . . help me !! Why are you just standing there !? HELP ME !

    No matter what they tried, the child couldn’t keep him from withering away, his skin turned to dust and whisked away by the sudden winds. Still, his screams didn’t vanquish, painfully reminding Frisk again and again. Help me! Help me!

   Their unearthly cry ripped him away, shoving him back to the deep, deep depths of their mind. Sitting bolt upright, Frisk had finally regained enough courage to open their eyes and glance around, where their room had laid untouched and not a golden flower was in sight. 

      Against their wishes, tears broke their bank and flooded down their cheeks, landing in their open palms.    ❝   It was just a dream . . . just a dream . . .   ❞   they repeated, trying to console themselves. They’d only feel even more guilty if they woke up Toriel.
