i think hadestown should have 2 trans actors: orpheus and the lowest fate. i’ve seen a video of a trans fate and the way her voice resonated was absolutely insane, sure theres plenty of cis altos who can hit the notes but very few can get the power behind their voices yk

my argument for orpheus is basically the inverse in that theres not many cis guys who can sing that high and still have the vocal power the son of a muse should have. imagine a mezzosoprano/maybe even soprano orpheus. some people really like the falsetto but in some versions of the myth he’s the son of apollo that voice should have some power behind it. if your song is going to fix climate change I want to hear you belting it.

i want more queer relationships that don’t look like queer relationships in media. i’m trans and bisexual, and sure i’m visibly queer right now since i’m only transitioning socially at the moment, but it won’t always be like that. there will come a day where i am cis passing, and theres a chance i’m dating a woman at some point in time. that does not magically make me cisgender and heterosexual, it just might appear so from an outsider’s perspective. of course i want to be perceived as male, and my eventual goal is to be cis-passing, but i do not want to be excluded from the communities I belong in just because I don’t look or act or talk a certain way.
