reblog if youâve read fanfictions that are more professional, better written than some actual novels. Iâm trying to see something
I get a lot of people telling me that they hate how much the iliad drags on with all these little bloodlines of each person who does but like
It FUCKS ME UP. Like. Here is a man who lived, a prince maybe, a son, a father, who had just gotten married, whose wife waits across the sea. Here is a taste of his life. Watched it be dashed against the ground.
Here is a boy, a trojan soldier. He has yet to be wed. His father waits for him to return home. He is speared on the battleground. His father weeps
There is a king kissing the palms of the man who killed his son. There is a soldier whose mother will never be able to hold again. There are these pieces of lives that bleed red
These were all people, and the bloodlines help to emphasize that.

small but effective ways to feel connected to your craft (for when work/sickness/mental health gets in the way)
-carry your crystals around with you! in a lil pouch maybe!
-do small meditation sessions when you have breaks during the day! (meditation can be different for everyone, sitting still with eyes closed doesnât work for some! try walking, jogging, listening to music, etc. to clear your mind)
-fill your home with plants & herbs according to their magical correspondences (but you donât need to follow the correspondences at all if you donât want to!!!)
-wear black for protection!!
-use windy days to cleanse yourself!
-dedicate/enchant meals before you eat them
-enchant your jewelry, clothes, etc.
-use veiling when you leave your home to protect you!
-sleep with your tarot cards, carry them around
-make moon water & use it for your plants!!
-spend some time outside/in nature when you can
-draw your sigils on your face when you do your makeup! or if you donât wear makeup, trace them with moisturizer or sunscreen!
-if you have time, sew the sigils into your clothing so theyâll always be on you!!
-stay hydrated!! this is vague but important in all aspects of your life, it will help give you energy:)
-be crafty!! all art is magical
never feel bad for taking a break for your physical health, mental health or whatever it may be. it doesnât make you any less of a witch <3
Friendly reminder that if someone tells you that you need to connect to a "source consciousness" in order to be a "real witch" and ESPECIALLY if that person tells you to stop taking your medication in order to do so....
THAT PERSON IS A FUCKING LIAR.
You are not required to "connect" to anything in order to be a real witch. You are a real witch because you choose to be a witch.
Your meds do not prevent you from being magical or from exploring any kind of greater potential. They are there to keep your body and your brain as healthy and functional as possible. Do not let anyone shame you for needing medication.
Please keep taking your meds!
Okay, y'all - stop sending me DMs about healing magic and herbal remedies. It's great for some things! Sore throats, coughs, some aches and pains, headaches, trouble sleeping... for stuff like that, essential oils and teas are great! Eucalyptus for me is wonderful for a realizing shower after a really bad anxiety attack. But please, please, there is a difference between using honey to soothe a cough and claiming essential oils are going to replace antibiotics.
Witchcraft isn't going to heal your pneumonia, depression, or cancer.
Herbal teas are not going to stop your surgical incision from getting infected.
Witchy remedies arent going to make your tattoo heal faster than recommended aftercare.
Listen to your doctor, nurse, piercer, or artist.
Take your antibiotics, antidepressants, and prescriptions.
And stop telling people that tea and tonics are going to cure them. You are not their specialist!
This is a very pro-medicine blog! Take your medicine! Go to a clinic!
And for the last fucking time: honey tea is good for sore throats but medication is for step throat!
Witchcraft isn't going to magically heal you. It's just not. Some things are beyond the effect of spells and incantations.
If you don't agree, I don't have time for you. Block me. Or even better, comment, and I'll block you. I don't want your bullshit on my page. There are baby witches here who are learning and easily influenced and I will not have them influenced by the likes of you.
Baby witches: do not listen to those who think 100% of human ailments can be cured herbally and magically. That is false. Take care of yourself at all costs and don't listen to that. Listen to your specialists, doctors, and psychologists, especially if you have mental illnesses since those seem to be targeted most.
This has been a very frustrated and aggressive public service announcement.
May I present to you:
Book seller
Crystal seller
He sells flowers
She will sell you a pumpkin this fall
Would you like to purchase.. bean?
They are regulars. They buy mushrooms for soup
She has more options
Donât be scared, heâs just been doing this for years and is passionate about garlic
Can I interest you in...melon?
Witchâs familiar needs coins to buy ingredients from toad next door
Please trust reliable, small business owners

The blue eyes mark this crow as young, not a full adult.
Youâve been pranked by a teen hooligan.
Youâve been pranked by,
Youâve been sticked by,
A teen hooligan
fam this isnât a crow, itâs a jackdaw
I... need to talk about this in a snarky way.
Look. I am fucking WHITE. I look at a chilli and I sweat, and I get sunburnt *indoors*. So I am not here trying to say I speak from any place of authority or cultural ownership.
But, this whole aesthetic smudge bundle trend is INSANE to me.
Burning roses like that? It STINKS! And it is a real fire hazard. Bits of burning twig and rose and shit coming off left and right! I know smudging is often done with a container underneath but goddamn!
I have been seeing bundles with whole crystal points in them too! Crystals donât burn, but they sure as hell heat up! Youâre going to burn your hand, drop the bundle, and there goes you aesthetic up in smoke while your skyclad arse is running about trying to call emergency.
Iâm not trying to shame anyoneâs personal practice; but I feel like this is lunacy. Am I alone in this?
Am I wrong in assuming this is white people appropriating indigenous peopleâs practices?

Actual shit I said while cleansing the house:
Mom: *saying a chant that one of our friends recommended, using a feather to gently waft the sage smoke around the rooms*
Me: *waving sage around* get the fuck out of here this ain't no fucking bed and breakfast. Don't you even THINK about attaching to us either because I know a bitch who will send your ass back to wherever you came from.
My sister in law, watching this go down: what the fuck
Me, continuing: if you're a negative bitch get the fuck out. If you're a chill bitch you can stay, neutrals can stay but you're on thin fucking ice.
Witchy Aesthetics

storm witch:Â lightning crackling, calling up a storm, dancing in the rain, getting excited when you feel a storm coming, checking the weather activity
dream witch: sleepy eyes, soft blankets, meditating in the mornings to remember your dreams, reality checks, sleeping with crystals under your pillow
divination witch: wearing your pendulum as a necklace, sleeping with your tarot deck, shaky hands, too many tarot decks, meditating with your tools

glamour witch: sigils on the mirror, rose quartz in random places, makeup bags, looking fly, youtube channels on makeup, on-the-spot glamours
closeted witch: hiding grimoires in drawers, sigils for invisibility, waiting for everyone else to go out, performing spells behind locked doors at night
art witches: moon water in your paint cup, paint-stained fingers, charmed drawing tablet, colour corresponding your art supplies, local bookshops
I took this from Twitter because it's no joke. A lot of witches tend to keep these lamps so I felt it would be worth bringing up. Please be careful and safe! Nobody wants to lose a fur baby.
Even if you aren't a witch, still please keep this in mind!!!!!
So I know I always want an altar and grimoire that I can take with me anywhere without any weird looks. A lot of people make posts about having an altar on their phone or in a box they take with them. As a spoonie I want it as easily accessible as possible so I made myself a little phone altar
it has a daily tarot card widget by cosmic tarot, a moon calendar by daffmoon, another moon info bit by Moon Phase, and some tarot and rune apps, and my favorite game where you grow plants and collect oxygen :)
Also I have the app solfeggio for grounding/meditation, and cleansing energy with sound.
then i just have my notes for any spells or rituals i want to write down or remember and my photos for plant and crystal references :")
