As a child I didnt want to have dolls, wear dresses, be seen as feminine. I was always expected, and expected from myself to be strong, reliable, confident person to everyone, and this is seen as inherently "male". I seperated my feelings from myself to be the perfect daughter, classmate, friend, whoever people wanted me to be. Misogyny as shaming people for being feminine applies to women as well. I know this argument has been made so many times before, but I always find it good to come back to it again
I've posted about this miserable man multiple times before but I think the world needs to really understand how evil he is.
(rant under cut)
Let me paint the picture: he has that gen z haircut, basic ass clothes and always has his face contorted in a way that he probably thinks is sexy. He never expresses any emotion because he is simply too cool and nonchalant for that.
Now, that asshole thinks he is better than everyone obviously, despite using ChatGPT for all of his tasks and rarely showing up to his classes, two of which I unfortunately share with him (latin and drama). I am 90% sure that he only watches 'popular movies' and has never touched an indie production in his sorry little life, from what I gathered his favorite films are Fight Club, the Godfather and Whiplash, which, I have to say, aren't bad movies but boy that's so basic. Up until recently I was lucky enough to never have been forced to interact with him but one of my friends was in a graded group work with him and he made sure that she would spend the littlest time possible on stage and even when she voiced concerns about not being able to be seen by the audience from her position he shut her down and she ultimately was graded worse because of barely being in the play. That's when my personal hatred for him really started.
For the next assignment we got to choose our own groups, in which we had to prepare and hold a presentation about a theatre theory. The group Sir Asshole was in, from what I know, had a falling out because someone wasn't willing to cooperate and so one of the members ended up holding the presentation all by himself.
This semester I got put in a group with him, a girl I had worked with before (who I don't have much against) and a twink (used derogatively here). The very first interaction we had involved him trying to convince me to talk another group out of their assigned theatre style so we could do it instead, this theatre style he wanted so bad was possible the most boring option you could get and no one in our group except for him wanted it. The twink told me he was against it but didn't stand up to him so I had to do it. This will become a pattern.
Most of our work from then on was really just him saying something along the lines of: "we should do this thing I came up with (definitely stole, like the plot from the first play he 'came up with'), if everyone's fine with that we'll just do it" and then me telling him that I believe that there's a better way to do it and that we should probably brainstorm. From this point on he started hating me, I think.
A few classes before we have to present our play, I'm sick and expecting them to, you know, do their work, perhaps finally finish the script so we can practice. Very reasonable of me. But no. I get a message from the twink that my sworn enemy is going to write one scene and that I and the girl are to write the other two, his own scene he then sent to me and asked for feedback. His scene was a singular sentence. A sentence we had already talked about and he therefore didn't come up with. My hatred grows.
At this point I catch wind that the two testicle-havers are talking shit about me for "holding back the group work".
The next week, I am the only one in the group that has an oral exam in Latin, which I need to prepare for, so I message them saying I won't be able to write my scene in time and they ghost me. I ask about the other scenes and they ghost me. Literally the day before we need to present, they decide to meet up to practice. I ask if we have a script. They ghost me.
So I'm there, on time and waiting. And guess what only the girl shows up and she has not written her scene. We try to call my rival and he doesn't answer. The girl asks me, if it would be fine for me to write the scenes by myself. "Of course" I tell her so I don't have to deal with any of them at least. I spent my free time, about two and a half hours writing the two missing scenes. I sent them to the others, they ghost me. At the end of the day the girly messages our teacher that we won't be able to present the next day.
Next week it is. We need to practise and meet up. The asshole has written his scene. Good on him I guess. He reads it to us, so I get ready to read mine but he doesn't give me the opportunity and wants to start practicing. I tell him repeatedly that our scenes don't work together and that we'll have to change mine to fit. He ignores me, says we should practice.
I'll try to keep it a bit punchier from here on.
He asks to play the character I was supposed to play because he thinks he can play arrogance better than me
I let him take the character
While practicing he finally sees that the script doesn't work and wants to scrap and rewrite all my scenes
I tell him no, there's no time for that
We end up barely practicing
Skip to the next drama class, we present, he tells me he didn't learn his text
The twink also didn't
They improvise
We get 8 points for our play
I got 13 for my performance but it gets added to the previous points so they end up dragging me down to 10
Final act
It's the last class before the summer break and our teacher tells us that we'll go eat ice cream but no, Mr. I'm Better Than Everyone still has to hold a presentation because he fucked up that other group work.
He talks about how 1999 was the year the best movies were released and how that famous scene from Whiplash was the best acting performance ever, without analysing a single thing.
Things I forgot:
- he really really wanted his character to be physically disabled
- he made up a film term and then mansplained it to me
I Dont Foubt He Can Play Arrogance Better Than @sacerlicious Purely Because She Isn't Arrogant (An Amazing Actor Still), And The Dude Is The Most Arrongant Loser I've Ever Met. I Unfortunately Had The Misfortune Of Having The Same Chem Profile As Him, And In Physics Class He Always Talks His Shit (Not In A Good Way). Goes Around To Everyone Amd Explains The Task, Takes Control Of Any Group Observations/Experiments. Like My Friend Said Always Mansplains Everything While Having A Stupid Smug Smile. He Has Gone Missing From 2? Maybe Just 1 Presentation, So His Group Mates Had To Carry Him. And You Know Those Types Of Guys Who Downplay Everything, Not Because Of Personal Feelings, But Purely Because They Think It Makrs Them Tougher? Like Dude You Once Came To School In Crutches After Having Been Missing For 4 Days, You Are Not "Just Fine" And It Doesn't "Not Hurt" I Saw You Wince When Walking. And He Said This With The Exact Same Smug Shit Eating Grin. Im So Happy He's Leaving, I Hope He Gets Outcasted In The New School. Oh And Let's Not Forget How He Left The Computer Science Profile Because He Thought He Was "Too Smart". It Is Objectively One Of The Hardest, And He Only Came To Chem Because He Couldn't Go To The Politics/Economics Profile.
Once me and two of my friends had to work with him on a group project as well, he was in our profile first. We might've bullied him out of the class (deserved), we didn't insult him or anything (just ghosted), he felt lack of attention or smth idk and left.
But I'll get back to the main plot here. We had a presentation with him in history, and he wasn't even in class most of the time, so we made a concept and collected info without him first. At some point he came back and we decided to allow him to make the powerpoint since if he didnt do anything his grade would be lower (we're so kind). He simply decided to change everything that we came up with for the worse, change exercises and group work, added unnecessary slides. I was so pissed since I already tried to persuade him on any and every occasion I had, his ideas we're just so ass. In the end the feedback we received was mainly changing the things that he changed. So like yeah he ass I'm happy he's leaving the school
