Something that will always break my heart is Usopp's canonical worst fear.
You'd think is dying. After all, he always runs away (even tho he comes back), he's scared by stronger people because he doesn't wanna die. Right?
But no.
His greatest fear is being useless.
Do you understand what this implies?
He's afraid of being useless because since he has abandonment issues, he thinks he has to earn his family, he has to bring something, anything, or they'll leave. Even though the straw hats wouldn't.
He doesn't run because he's scared of dying, but because if he dies he'll be useless. If he gets too hurt, he'll be useless. Unlike Nami and Chopper, he doesn't run because he has a fear of dying, but because he doesn't want the crew to be without a sniper.
It's so sad. Someone have a talk with my boy.

Hey! I loved that you asked this. So, here they are:
Usopp Headcanons
1. Usopp wears a bonnet to bed. Oda doesn’t really show the Straw Hats during their low-key, mundane moments aboard the ship anymore, so I have adopted this headcanon deeply and personally.
2. Usopp is actually better with a gun than he is with a slingshot. He simply prefers slingshots.
3. Whenever Luffy and Usopp argue after Water 7, Luffy has to be careful about how he speaks to him. Usopp doesn’t respond well to yelling or “because I said so.” Yes, Mr. Straw Hat is the captain, but not everyone operates like Mr. Straw Hat. Respect is still a two-way street.
4. Usopp is surprisingly chill when the cameras stop rolling. He can handle most of the crew’s insanity with a calm head—right up until Luffy starts Luffying.
5. Usopp is the acting shipwright. Whenever Franky is unavailable or out of commission, Usopp has his blessing to take over. At this point, I consider him the crew’s co-shipwright. Franky’s mentorship gave him the experience and knowledge he desperately needed back when Merry was barely holding together.
6. Usopp knows how to use the Clima-Tact. He may not know every one of Nami’s techniques or be able to incorporate Zeus, but he can still accomplish plenty with it on his own, especially with the pre-timeskip moves. The Clima-Tact has backward compatibility. That is another headcanon, but stay with me.
7. Usopp is extremely intelligent. He’s a biologist, an engineer, and everything that falls somewhere beneath those umbrellas. He’s like that kid who jokes too much and constantly gets in trouble because he sits beside a friend who refuses to apply himself—Luffy—but when the teacher returns everyone’s papers, you glance over and discover that Usopp got an A with a circle around it.
8. Usopp knows basic self-defense because Heracles taught him. Besides, a sniper still has to graduate from boot camp before moving on to specialized sniper training.
9. Usopp is the person everyone asks to kill bugs. Sure, Robin, Franky, Zoro, Brook, and Jinbe are perfectly capable of doing it, but Usopp is approachable, dorky, and possesses one-shot accuracy. He is clearly the best person to call when there’s a giant bug sitting in the corner of your bedroom or food pantry. Sometimes “spanking” and “SUUUPERRR!” simply aren’t going to cut it.
10. Usopp can fight at close range by using Kabuto’s stem as a melee weapon. He even did it in one of the One Piece specials or movies, so I’m taking it.
11. Usopp has mental health issues involving anxiety and dissociation. Because he’s highly functional, many of those symptoms are mistaken for simple cowardice.
12. Usopp uses Observation Haki far more often than he realizes. He simply hasn’t learned to recognize it yet. He also has a genuine ability to detect danger before almost anyone else does.

Robin: Probably one of the most obvious. She took one look at Chopper wide eyes and was in love. She will protect his wonder with her life. How can you blame you? At Robin's core is a child who loves to flip over rocks and poke the bugs to see how'd they react. And Usopp is her favorite bug. She loves teasing him. That's her little ball of anxiety.
Franky: Heard Usopps insecurities and decided he would raise this nerd as his own. Also has a soft spot for Chopper.
Brook: Has claimed Luffy as his princess since joining the crew. He spoils his captain dearly. Also sees so much of his young self in Sanji, that is his grandson.
Jimbei. The international uncle of the sea has adopted Luffy. This is his monkey, and this is his circus. Loves his retirement plan. Also has such a soft spot for Nami. It's not even out of guilt, he sees her grace and maturity and the orange niece shape void in his heart shrinks. He was meant to be a girl dad. Also extends to Zoro, who he sees so much of his young self in. Zoro might bot be mature but his sense of honor is stronger than most people Jimbei has met.

I HAVE to share how my parents met bc this is gold. So, my mom had a neighbor, who was a friend of my dad. The girl organizated a lunch with all her friends. They were a lot, so she asked my mom if she could bring some plates. My mom said yes, because she lived next door so it wouldn't be a problem. She knocks the door, and this absolutely gorgeous, oblivious dude opens. He looks lovingly at her for a moment... takes the plates, and says "thanks" before slamming the door in her face. He thought my mom was only there to drop the plates. Anyway, a few years later my mom married this guy.
By the way, my dad had to BEG her for MONTHS to accept just a date because she was still offended by the incident lmao.
When I mean he had to beg I mean it. This poor man spent TWO MONTHS trying to rizz her up. Not in a harassing way, more like "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE" + lots of compliments.
My mom thought wow this guy is dedicated and gave him a chance. She was a gorgeous young woman back then, and I kidd you not she had LOTS of suitors. She had even been married for four years! At twenty two! With a dude from Spain? That's how unattainable she was. So she recognized he was truly interested in her and not in her looks.
Then she thought wow this guy's kinda smart. And then wow he's really cute and funny and sweet and he's a feminist. Before she knew it she was in love with him. And here we are. They've been together for eighteen years and married for twelve
