you know im actually so glad that this ended the way that it did, because shiv was absolutely right. kendall was not the right person for this job. and not only was it already being shown how quickly kendall was becoming a monster just like logan was with the power just only in his grasp (the scene of him “hugging” roman??? the irony??) and how much worse things would have become with him in charge. in the end shiv not only protected herself by voting against kendall but she probably also saved both herself and roman from the continued cycle of abuse and manipulation. shiv finally broke the cycle

I don’t actually see shiv as having fully lost? she got real power for the first time to make a choice regarding the company. and she only got that vote because of her own cleverness in s3. I had a lot of issues with this season and I by no means think this was a perfect ending or a happy one BUT shiv got to have the final say! she never got a real voice in those decisions before. and she has a better chance of having influence and sway with tom and lukas than she ever did with kendall. plus she was right! kendall was wrong for it, look at the fucking tantrum he threw in broad daylight in front of the board when she said that. so no I don’t think the ending is happy, it never was going to be, but I don’t despair for her. I believe she’s craftier then kendall or roman. she had a real career before, she could again. it’s not going to be perfect, she’s still tied to the company to the cycle she’s still possibly pregnant. but I take some comfort in that she got to be the one to have the final vote and she’s still got an in
