š¶Yeah, youāre a naturalā¦.
Oh, Twitter.
I was perched up on that chair. On my tippy toes ⦠all ready to go. I just had to take that one last step and it all wouldāve been over. The end.

āItās a shame that the little thing Iāve done has become such a big thing. I somehow thought that weād gotten further than than this, but thereās still so much to do, especially for the youth. We need a big profile to say that āIām gay and I can still play hockeyā. But I donāt think there is one. Thatās what I feel now. If Iād been gay I would have stopped playing hockey when I was a teenager. So when they say that thereās 3 to 4 gay players in every team⦠no, absolutely not. They quit when they were kids. Nobody dares or wants to keep playing.ā (x)

Every time I read another account of the darkness a retired player is living in after hanging up his skates, it breaks my heart a little more. Why the fuck isnāt the league doing anything. The first time someone spoke up should have been enough. The sport we all love is killing people and no one in suits and ties gives a single shit. Reading parts of Lamorielloās deposition makes me sick. It all just makes me so, so sick.Ā
THIS is part of why it upsets me so much when people talk about the players playing hurt like itās so noble, that theyāre True Warriors for playing with injuries and making them worseā¦putting their bodies and health (mental AND physical) on the line.Ā
Because they do this and they put themselves and their actual lives on the line for a team and league that shows time after time that they donāt give a fuck about these guys once they arenāt making them money anymore.
These boys need help, and I am sick of seeing assholes from the Old Guard telling them to suck it up and shut up, they have ~money instead of helping them.
