honestly can't help but feel awful at how the boys is ending. doesn’t make any sense to me.

what the fuck is this final season? little to zero screen time for marie and gen v characters? noir died in the worst way possible and don't get me started on the sub plots on there, like how is soldier boy's arch ending? on a fridge again? hughie and annie??? butcher and his tentacles that he used just one fucking time?? m.m. and kimiko now that frenchie's gone???

idk, I’m not sold on a-train’s death being this necessary story beat to show us how high the stakes are and how disturbed homelander is. we already knew all that. why do redemption arcs just have to culminate in the person dying? especially when they’re not white?

A-Train refusing to help Annie and Kimiko saying he has a family to protect. A-Train changing his mind after meeting his brother because he truly changed and is the hero he was supposed to be. Reggie showing up to the interment camp to save Hughie’s life because he first destroyed it. Reggie on the run from Homelander and tripping into a ditch just so he wouldn’t obliterate that woman into guts like he did Robin. Reggie finally accepting the fact that Homelander is nothing but a weak pathetic sniveling bitch, nothing but an empty suit who wants to feel more loved than he actually is. Reggie dying laughing in joy seeing Homelander crying because he didn’t think the fastest man alive would run away from him too. the first episode fucked me up BAD

One thing I really appreciate about the boys is the attention to detail when it comes to world building

In 2x5 when Starlight’s mom is talking to stormfront, their conversation about the little hero pageants isn’t even in focus but when Annie walks over you can hear her mom say “Firecracker” (at 22:03)

So in 1x8 when Stillwell says Becca miscarried while Vogelbaum said the baby died ten seconds after being born… it made sense on the first few watches but thinking about it now, it’s really hard to believe that you wouldn’t make sure your stories are air tight when you have all the power of the biggest company in America and are trying to hide a secret from unstable, sociopathic, lab rat, murder Superman

If they don’t put MM’s mom in season 5, the creators of The Boys can take all their “we’re the grossest most fucked up show” bullshit and shove it right up their asses. Every fucking time in the past when they’ve said “oh brace yourselves this season is gonna have the most messed up thing you’ve ever seen” I’ve ALWAYS thought it was gonna be MM’s mom but they keep putting it off. They need to finally let us in more on MM’s story while simultaneously putting their money where their mouth is with the shock gross out stuff.
