Having never seen Jurassic Park, I am legitimately unsure where the actual saga ends, because all of this sounds plausible to have been in the canon series.

when Udesky admits to Paul that he's 'like a booking agent' and Paul admits that he runs a hardware store and they say, "You never can tell about people, can you?" "Ain't that the truth."

movie what are you saying? some theme about people on that Island not being quite what they say they are, or what/all they appear to be? If we apply that to Alan and Billy as well, obviously they're more honest than the rest and were tricked there under false pretenses, but even so, clearly there is more going on to them than is voiced. While it's shown that Alan is facilitating Billy's higher education and involved with his employment, their actions and behavior demonstrate there is far, far more going on there

poor Alan is so alarmed and shocked by the fact that the Kirbys are planning to set the plane down on the island, trauma immediately resurfacing, that he rushes up and attempts to go to the cockpit

if Alan had gone to meet with the Kirbys by himself, he would NOT have agreed to go with on that trip - it was for Billy, at Billy's prodding.

Alan dramatically declaring to an entire audience while begging for their money, "No force on Earth or Heaven could get me on that island," and then a mere three scenes later he's agreeing to go

and then it's LITERALLY spelled out in text when he says to Billy, "And the truth is, you got me into this. And I have no intention of being on my own with these people."

there's no way Alan would have gone to the Island if it weren't for Billy, so therefore, to Alan, Billy is a force greater than Earth and Heaven.

u know what. to this day I maintain that Billy wasn't actually intentionally flirting with Cheryl when she asked for his help

he's so focused on helping and teaching (like how Alan does with him) that he probably isn't concerned with how it comes off until halfway through his 'rough, smooth' when he undercuts the moment with a little laughter, suddenly realizing what it seems like, and with his charming personality and the obvious crush Cheryl has on him, well... I think if he were genuinely trying to flirt, he wouldn't have sabotaged the moment like that
