prosperina and zevran are like. incredibly divorced in a never married way. i know your favourite coffee and i’m full of incredible resentment about the murder attempt but i’m proud of you in a way that kills me a little. i would love to talk so much about my mental image of the camp dynamics but like also i hate to feel like i’m. we must have this dynamic because it’s what i see, and i know especially as an oc— it’s so common for it to be perceived that way (when really, i just have a lot of thoughts, and would love any dynamics).

he had hoped not to live through another blight. history seemed on his side too— the fourth blight was four hundred years ago, the third blight two hundred before that. men didn’t live that long, let alone wardens. his bones would have settled into the ground, his skin rotted and turned to dust, his memory half-forgotten, before another blight broke the surface. it made sense. it was a reasonable assumption. of course, he was wrong. now fate had chosen another young protector to risk their life and everything they held dear without a guiding hand to help. history revealed as a cruel and untalented jester, repeating itself far too soon for a joke that was never funny. ❝ rook, i was wondering … had you seen blight before d’meta’s crossing? or darkspawn? were you— ❞ he made a quick calculation in his head and felt some relief at the outcome. ❝ do you remember the last blight? ❞

there’s a few long seconds while they pause— cherry lips pressing together as brows burrowed in thought. “ ... i learned about it. ” it isn’t nervousness that tints her voice, something closer to embarrassment. they had been a child, collecting and hoarding bones like a dragon to treasure. it serves to remind her of the horror of war & how unprepared they feel. “ i was five when it happened— it was twenty years ago, right? yeah, five. and in nevarra too. ” their hands fidget for a moment, twisting around some of the silver rings that decorate her lithe fingers. big, strange eyes staring toward the warden— toward the hero. “ how old were you when it happened? did... did you feel prepared for it? to save the world? ”

the tea is a very good bribe. even so, she still takes a few moments to emerge, dark braids twisted and messy as their head pokes up, shuffling around so she could extend a hand— fingers wrapping around the cup, “ gimmie. ” the end of the world is coming, near resting on their shoulders— and all prosperina can do is lazily stare toward her fellow warden. “ you’re the best, ” with a long sip of the hot drink. the crucible of it all, resting in the valley’s of ferelden as the blight begins. the corruption upon the lands, decay and destruction consuming and devouring it all. even as it all begins burn and die out, he still makes the best cup of tea she has ever had. “ excellent idea. we need to banish oghren from camp. or we all banish ourselves. —bad sleep too? we could just pretend today isn’t happening and all go back to bed. ”
