For @cold-boy-tapes day 2, I decided on the commute prompt. I built the playlist around the idea first of what kind of playlist Hickey would make. I think every day he is tested by wondering if he should not go home; should he go somewhere else, and escape his current situation (whether thats work... relationship issues... etc). I also used the quote from Adam Nagaitis, describing Hickey’s subconscious desires above, as a template as the type of songs I wanted to add. I wanted it to have that feeling of randomly switching through a radio station, trying to find the song that will give him the right answer. It was originally about 3 hours long, but I cut it down as much as possible x'')
If you’ve ever been to a place or a city you’ve never been to before, or even lived in a place you hated, a place far away from friends or people you know and have felt a weird familiarity/disconnect with everything at once, you might understand how this playlist is meant to feel. It’s a weird, unnerving feeling connecting to songs but feeling very out of place too. I think this feeling of alienation and unfamiliarity is something Hickey would just be dealing with on a daily basis. I tried to capture that feeling in this playlist as well as ensuring the songs were something Hickey would actually want to listen to. I hope you enjoy if you decide to listen!

Maybe he had been mistaking his position in the world all along, ever since the beginning. Trying to 'be happy', trying to 'survive', these impossible things weren't made for him to want. He must've looked pathetic. If he couldn't be loved, it'd be enough to be liked, if he couldn't be liked, I'd be enough to be noticed. Anything not to be forgotten. He realised now that that must've been too much to ask. Now he was sitting on the shale, left with nothing at all. Still, he wanted, he couldn't help it, but he would never ever get.

For @cold-boy-tapes first playlist prompt, I chose Little as the subject! (I'm giggling that so many of us decided to choose Little. Well done everyone. We all made Nedward cry) You can kind of think of this playlist not as something Little built himself, but a collection of songs that were just playing on his radio during this particularly horrible night he’s having. It’s both a mix of songs he would listen to, and songs that are explaining the narrative which I hope is okay lol. I usually try to have some kind of theme with playlists to help build it and with this one I decided on the rain. There is rain in a few tracks here, which are meant to represent Edward’s ‘pain’, and he is using music to help cover it up; until the end, where it can no longer be ignored. For that reason, listen to it in order.
Because I've been in an awful art slump last few months I couldn't come up with any good cover arts, so I asked my friend to do some for the event. So thank you to @futuristicdoormats789 for the cover art! For this artwork, I asked them to design a cover for the song ‘Magnolia’.
