Remember the old Oscar Meyer Bologna song? Hubby and I were driving along in the van (2003 navy blue Dodge Caravan, although that's completely unimportant) and I guess I was feeling pretty silly. This suddenly popped into my head and out my mouth. (Hubby laughed. He's cool like that.) *tune of the Oscar Meyer Bologna jingle* My Bologna has a first name, But I dunno what it is, I caint remember nothin' Since 1956 Oh I love that dang Bologna, But I don't buy it any more, Cause I caint remember what it's called When I go into the store! #Bobtailsquid are masters of disguise!

Specialised mucous glands allow them to glue sand and shells to their head and upper body. At night they use a light organ in their gill cavity which contains special glowing bacteria. The bacteria are fed sugars by the squid in return for making light. The organ contains filters which may alter the wavelength of luminescence closer to that of downwelling moonlight and starlight, thus allowing the squid to cancel its silhouette and remain undetected as it swims above upward-looking predators.
